The Santa Clarita Diet works! Drew Barrymore stuns in LBD at Netflix series premiere after revealing 20lb weight loss

Drew Barrymore hit the red carpet Wednesday night in Los Angeles looking sensational in a little black dress.

The actress, 41, recently admitted she had 'let herself go' during the break-up of her marriage to Will Kopelman but has shed 20 pounds since getting back to work.

The blonde beauty showed off her slimmed down figure at the premiere for her new Netflix series The Santa Clarita Diet in which she plays a zombie real estate agent.

The mom-of-two's dress featured short sleeves and an A-line neck with a halter tie paired with a studded T embellishment. 

The back had a v-neckline allowing the star to bare some skin as she posed for photographs.

Drew added black tights and towering platform heels that added several inches to her height.

The Never Been Kissed star divorced Kopelman, her third husband, in August last year.

The two remain friends and share custody of their daughters , Olive, four, and Frankie, two. 

She explained that the role in the comedy horror series in which she stars with Timothy Olyphant had become somewhat of a life-saver amidst her personal drama.

'It came sort of the middle of a moment in my life where I had sort of let myself go due to personal circumstances, and I thought I could come alive with Sheila,' she told Today anchor Natalie Morales on Friday.

As for her stunning wight loss, Drew joked: 'If you're eating....human flesh, I basically thought, 'Well, if a woman was just eating simple protein every day all day long she would lose weight'. It's like a very macabre Atkins [diet].'

Also on hand for the premiere was Australian actress Liv Hewson who has a guest role on the show.

She donned a black pantsuit that featured wide legs and was slashed to the waist at the front.

The jacket-style bodice had small pockets with flaps on either side and a black choker. 

Another actress who appears The Santa Clarita Diet is Natalie Morales and she showed up for the premiere in a plush midnight blue jacket.

She appeared to be naked under the long-sleeved top that was tied at the waist with and had two breast pockets.

Morales added wide-legged black pants and pointed toe silver pumps.

He's back: Former Castle star Nathan Fillion, who appears in an episode of the Netflix comedy horror series, also walked the red carpet at the ArcLight Hollywood

Also on the guest list for the event were Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana.

The chiseled star of the Dallas reboot sported a full-beard and wore a herringbone jacket over a black shirt and black jeans.

His actress fiancee looked lovely in a loose-fitting lightweight black and white patterned jumpsuit tied at the waist.
