An unmarked police car has crashed into a home in Dianella after it lost control during a pursuit of an alleged stolen vehicle.

The incident occurred on Verbena Avenue around 12.45pm.

A police spokeswoman said a woman who was alone inside the house at the time was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.

"Around 12.45pm, police sighted an allegedly stolen vehicle on Mirrabooka Avenue in Dianella," she said.

"They followed the vehicle through local streets, and on Verbena Avenue, the police vehicle lost control and hit a set of gates at the front of a house.

"The police vehicle then travelled into the house, causing damage to the lounge room."

Three police officers in the car were uninjured.

Nine News Perth reported neighbours heard a loud bang and someone screaming out for help before coming out to find the crash.

The Holden Commodore crashed through the front gate and lounge of the home, damaging some of its roof, with dislodged bricks visible on the roof and around the car.

The alleged stolen vehicle left the area.
