Clique runs regular workshops and events for our members. Each month we announce specific skill-based photography workshops with Fairfax photographers, as well as seminars and talks. We also hold photography exhibitions with our member’s images.

Shoot the Chef Melbourne photography workshop and exhibition presented by Nikon

In celebration of Good Food Month presented by Citi, members joined us for a Shoot the Chef food photography workshop with Fairfax Media photographer Eddie Jim and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal executive chef Ashley Palmer-Watts.

In celebration of Good Food Month presented by Citi, members joined us for a Shoot the Chef food photography workshop with Fairfax Media photographer Edwina Pickles and Black Star Pastry chef Christopher Thé.

Portraiture Workshops Melbourne

14th September 2016

Members joined Fairfax photographer Eddie Jim in the morning as he demonstrated how to interact with portraiture subjects and how to make the most of natural light. This workshop covered tips for building rapport with your subject, learning how to determine the intensity and direction of light, composition and exposure and camera and lighting equipment. In the afternoon, Fairfax photographer Simon Schluter led the studio lighting portraiture workshop where participants learnt how to operate and handle the studio lights throughout the workshop while also photographing professional talent hired specifically as subjects for the workshop.

Sydney Portraiture Workshops

13th September 2016

Members joined Fairfax photographer Peter Braig in the morning as he demonstrated how to interact with portraiture subjects and how to make the most of natural light. In the afternoon, Fairfax photographer James Brickwood led the studio lighting portraiture workshop where participants learnt how to operate and handle the studio lights throughout the workshop while also photographing professional talent hired specifically as subjects for the workshop.

Night Photography Workshop Melbourne

12th August 2016

Members joined Fairfax photographers Eddie Jim and Penny Stephens for a night of photography with fireworks along the water’s edge at Docklands. While most people put their camera’s down with the sun, Eddie and Penny demonstrated beauty of photography by night with tips on composition, finding interesting subject matter and helping with camera settings for accurate exposures.

Movement & Motion Workshop Sydney

14th August 2016

At this workshop, attendees were given media passes to shoot the City2Surf at the Bondi Beach finish line. The workshop covered sports photography, panning, movement, and shutter speed.

‘Images of Australia: A Fairfax Media Exhibition’ at Westfield Shopping Centres

20th June – 3rd July 2016

Curated by Fairfax photographer Steven Siewert, the exhibition ‘Images of Australia’ features work by photographers of The Sydney Morning Herald as well as Clique members. A celebration of photojournalism in Australia and Australian lifestyles, this exhibition was at Westfield centres in Parramatta, Chatswood and Miranda until July 3.
