  • Greg Hywood, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director

Mr Hywood was appointed CEO and Managing Director in February 2011, having joined the Board the year prior. 

He has enjoyed a long career in the media and government. A Walkley Award winning journalist, he has held a number of senior management positions at Fairfax including Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of each of The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald/ Sun Herald and The Age. He also held the position of Group Publisher Fairfax magazines. He was Executive Director Policy and Cabinet in the Victorian Premier's Department between 2004 and 2006, and from 2006 to 2010 was Chief Executive of Tourism Victoria. 

 

  • David Housego, Chief Financial Officer

Mr Housego was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of Fairfax Media in December 2012 with responsibility for Finance, Group Strategy, management of the transformation program, Investor Relations and Workplace Services.

He also represents Fairfax Media on a number of joint venture Boards across the Digital Ventures portfolio and is a Director of Australian Associated Press.

He was previously an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at Worley Parsons (ASX: WOR) from 1999 through 2010.

 

  • Allen Williams, Managing Director, Australian Publishing Media

Mr Williams was appointed Managing Director, APM in April 2013. He has extensive media management experience in Australia and overseas. Prior to joining Fairfax Media New Zealand as CEO in 2009, he led a number of the company's operations across rural, regional and metropolitan markets in Australia and the United States. He returned to the company in 2007 following the Rural Press Limited merger with Fairfax Media. 

Across his career he has worked at News Limited, Australian Consolidated Press and The Asher Joel Media Group. Allen currently represents Fairfax Media as a Director of Australian Associated Press.


  • Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director, Life Media & Events

Mr McEvoy joined Fairfax Media in early 2014 after 20 years in the tourism and travel industry, most recently as Managing Director of Tourism Australia. He is responsible for the Life Media & Events portfolio of lifestyle-oriented products - travel, health, food and wine, parenting, lifestyle and motoring.

Mr McEvoy began his career as a journalist with News Ltd and has lived and worked overseas.

He was elected to the position of Non-Executive Director of Sealink in February 2015, with the new role of Chairman of the Board from July 2015. He has been Chair of the Board for the Adelaide Riverbank Authority since August 2014.

 

  • Antony Catalano, Chief Executive Officer, Domain

Mr Catalano was appointed CEO of the Domain Group in November 2013, and has overseen a period of rapid growth. He has had a long career at Fairfax and held a number of senior positions including Director of Real Estate at The Age and General Manager of MPG. In 2004, he was appointed Classified Director Real Estate, Motoring and General Classifieds, before being appointed Director Newspaper Sales and Marketing and Product Development for Fairfax in Victoria.

Mr Catalano established Metro Media Publishing (MMP) in 2009, Victoria's fastest-growing media business, and pioneered the highly-effective agent equity model - which has underpinned MMP's extraordinary success in digital and print publishing. This model is now being rolled out nationally by the Domain Group. He is a Director of MMP.

 

  • Bob Lockley, Group Director, Printing & Distribution

Mr Lockley has extensive experience having been in the print industry for more than 40 years. He is responsible for growing the external print opportunities across our print centres in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring our products are printed to the highest standards and developing and growing our distribution division for the future. Prior to his time at Fairfax, Bob commences his career with News Limited and from there, he worked at Rural Press Limited developing its state-of-the-art print facilities.

Mr Lockley is a Director of the Environmental Advisory Group (EAG) - an organisation dedicated to advancing newspaper recycling in Australia, a Director of Torch Publishing, President of Single Width Users Group Inc. and a Board member of the Australian Catalogue Association. 

 

  • Gail Hambly, Group General Counsel & Company Secretary

Ms Hambly is a commercial and media law specialist. She is a member of the Media and Communications Committee and the Privacy Committee for the Law Council of Australia, a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre of Media and Communications Law at the Melbourne Law School, a member of Chartered Secretaries Australia and of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She holds degrees in Law, Economics and Science.

She is Chair of CopyCo Pty Limited, a Director of Trade Me Limited and Sydney Story Factory.

 

  • Guy Reypert, Group Director, Digital Ventures

Mr Reypert joined Fairfax Media in 2013 and has responsibility for the Digital Ventures portfolio of businesses.

He was previously Business Development Director at Netus, a technology investment company.  Prior to that he worked at News Digital Media, in private equity and as a strategy consultant at L.E.K Consulting. 

 

  • Michelle Williams, Group Director, Human Resources

Ms Williams joined Fairfax Media in 2004 and is responsible for the Human Resources strategy and its implementation across the group including learning and development, safety and HR processes such as recruitment, performance and remuneration.

Ms Williams spent several years working in the financial services industry in human resources, relationship management and process improvement roles prior to joining Fairfax. 

She holds degrees in Science and Commerce.

 

  • Robyn Elliott, Chief Information Officer 

Ms Elliott joined Fairfax Media as Chief Information Officer in March 2015 to lead the technology and digital product development across the group. She was previously CIO for the Foxtel subscription television company for more than twelve years, where she built the platforms for customer interaction, digital products and analytics.

Robyn's career includes extensive technology consulting experience across Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia with IBM and Accenture. She holds an MBA and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Strategy and Innovation program.

Ms Elliott has a wealth of experience on the front-line of digital disruption, leading innovation and customer-centric approaches to create value in a rapidly changing ecosystem.  

 

  • Simon Tong, Managing Director, Fairfax New Zealand

Mr Tong was appointed Managing Director for Fairfax Media New Zealand in September 2013. He is leading the company as it shifts from a traditional print organisation to a multi-channel media company.

A proven leader with an impressive track-record of achieving business goals, Mr Tong joined Fairfax after seven years as Chief Executive of New Zealand electronic payments provider, Paymark, which processes more than 75 percent of the country's EFTPOS transactions.

His 18-year career in the information technology industry also includes senior executive roles as Compaq Computer and Hewlett-Packard.

He holds a Master of Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Massey University, and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
