Barack and Michelle Obama holiday on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island
Sunnies, shorts and a flipped-back cap: Barack Obama was a picture of health as he relaxed on Richard Branson's private island this week.
The 44th President of the US and his wife Michelle are enjoying some downtime on their billionaire pal's Necker Island.

The couple's first post-presidency holiday began with a brief stop in Palm Springs, California on January 21, where they stayed at the home of James Costos, Obama's Ambassador to Spain, and his husband Michael S. Smith.
Smith, an interior designer who redecorated the White House for the Obamas, posted a selfie from inside Air Force One before jetting to their California home.

Necker Island is a 74-acre private Carribean resort that can accommodate up to 35 people and has hosted celebrities like Kate Winslet, Mariah Carey and Diana Princess of Wales.
Kate Moss also held her 40th birthday on the island, which the Virgin Group mogul reportedly bought in 1983 for US$180,000 ($247,000).
The vibe is chilled – long lazy strolls, swims among darting fish, laidback sailing escapades … but Energiser bunnies have two gyms to choose from. The indoor gym is cardio central, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors overlooking Virgin Gorda and Mosquito Island.
Starting price for exclusive use of the island is USD$2294 (NZ$3271) per person daily. During celebration weeks, where you can book a room only (September and October), twin rooms from US$2000 (NZ$2853) per person.
But perhaps Branson will waive the fee for a long-time friend?
