The folklore dance group named "DrahdiWadln" was one of the highlights at the Viennese Spring Festival in the Lainzer Park, a large green outdoor area in the suburbs of Vienna. The day was blessed with fabulous weather, sunshine and 21 degrees C. Perfekt conditions for enjoying a day outdoors, a picnic, and listening as well as participating in Austrian folk dances. The dance groups name DrahdiWadln is Austrian slang and freely translates to "turn you lower legs" which is just another way of saying "let's dance". At the beginning they invited the audience to join them. They kicked their event off with a dance in which kids could participate, followed by another easy dance for anyone who had the desire to join them on the stage. Thereafter the showed off their skills. One of their dances was called "Fensterln" song. "Fensterln" refers to the traditional custom of young rural lads bringing a ladder in the evening to their lovers home high in the Alps, to climb up to the window of their persued gal. Window means Fenster, and fensterln is the act of climbing up to the window in order to get a kiss or more from the lover. Music was performed by the band "D'Unterdörfler" (translates to "the ones from the village at the bottom"). Both teams played and dances well together presenting Austrian folk music and austrian folk dances at their best. Good fun for young and old.

Austria (
i/ˈɒstriə, ˈɔː-/;German: Österreich [ˈøːstɐˌʁaɪç]), officially the Republic of Austria (German: Republik Österreich, 
listen ), is a federal republic and a landlocked country of over 8.66 million people in Central Europe. It is bordered by the Czech Republic and Germany to the north, Hungary and Slovakia to the east, Slovenia and Italy to the south, and Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west. The territory of Austria covers 83,879 square kilometres (32,386 sq mi). Austria's terrain is highly mountainous, lying within the Alps; only 32% of the country is below 500 metres (1,640 ft), and its highest point is 3,798 metres (12,461 ft). The majority of the population speak local Bavarian dialects of German as their native language, and Austrian German in its standard form is the country's official language. Other local official languages are Hungarian, Burgenland Croatian, and Slovene.

Music
Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and with vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping, and there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). In its most general form, the activities describing music as an art form include the production of works of music (songs, tunes, symphonies, and so on), the criticism of music, the study of the history of music, and the aesthetic examination of music. Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound."

Folk music
Folk music includes both traditional music and the genre that evolved from it during the 20th century folk revival. The term originated in the 19th century but is often applied to music that is older than that. Some types of folk music are also called world music.
Traditional folk music has been defined in several ways: as music transmitted orally, or as music with unknown composers. It has been contrasted with commercial and classical styles. One meaning often given is that of old songs, with no known composers; another is music that has been transmitted and evolved by a process of oral transmission or performed by custom over a long period of time.
Starting in the mid-20th century a new form of popular folk music evolved from traditional folk music. This process and period is called the (second) folk revival and reached a zenith in the 1960s. This form of music is sometimes called contemporary folk music or folk revival music to distinguish it from earlier folk forms. Smaller similar revivals have occurred elsewhere in the world at other times, but the term folk music has typically not been applied to the new music created during those revivals. This type of folk music also includes fusion genres such as folk rock, folk metal, electric folk, and others. While contemporary folk music is a genre generally distinct from traditional folk music, in English it shares the same name, and it often shares the same performers and venues as traditional folk music. Even individual songs may be a blend of the two.

Hallstatt is a beautiful tiny little village by the Hallstatt lake with a population of fewer than 1000 inhabitants. Hallstatt can be reached by train in 3 hours from Vienna, the capital city of Austria. Best time to visit Hallstatt is Summer from June until early October. Most of the tourists who visit Hallstatt are from Asian countries like China, Taiwan etc as a full-scale replica of Hallstatt is built in China at Huizhou, Guangdong.

Take the funicular to Hohensalzburg, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval fortresses. Down below in the Old Town you’ll find Salzburg Cathedral and the Salzburg Museum. Nearby, wander along narrow Getreidegasse, one of the loveliest shopping streets in the world.
Just off the Old Market Square, savor 300 years of coffee-making tradition at Café Tomaselli. For classical Austrian fare served with a side of Opera, take the short walk to Stiftskeller St. Peter. At the Müllner Bräu Brewery, hang out with beer devotees from all over the world.
Salzburg has long been a city where inspiration knows no bounds, especially when it comes to its palaces. Just a short stroll from the Marionette Theater, the grandeur of Mirabell Palace and Gardens awaits. While on Salzburg’s southern outskirts, explore the playful water features at Hellbrunn Palace.

Bali - this word evokes a lot of thoughts: the tropical paradise, far away (at least from Austria), very exotic. While all of this is true, what fascinated me even more was that special mood, that atmosphere, "a tropical state of mind".
The Balinese are a very generous, warm people, deeply entrenched in their tradition, which is still incredibly alive. Their style of living, family values, culture - an exceptional experience, which they share with you everywhere, around every corner.
I was thinking a lot how to convey this mood, this relaxed atmosphere and feeling - for me the best way was to have a very slow paced film, showing the exceptional beauty of this little island and their inhabitants.
Therefore, I invite you to immerse yourself into "The Bali Experience". Pump up the volume for the best sound, and let me know what you think, I am very happy to receive feedback!

Austrian Folk Music at the Spring Festival, Vienna, Austria [Travel with Manfred]
The folklore dance group named "DrahdiWadln" was one of the highlights at the Viennese Spring Festival in the Lainzer Park, a large green outdoor area in the suburbs of Vienna. The day was blessed with fabulous weather, sunshine and 21 degrees C. Perfekt conditions for enjoying a day outdoors, a picnic, and listening as well as participating in Austrian folk dances. The dance groups name DrahdiWadln is Austrian slang and freely translates to "turn you lower legs" which is just another way of saying "let's dance". At the beginning they invited the audience to join them. They kicked their event off with a dance in which kids could participate, followed by another easy dance for anyone who had the desire to join them on the stage. The folklore dance group named "DrahdiWadln" was one of the highlights at the Viennese Spring Festival in the Lainzer Park, a large green outdoor area in the suburbs of Vienna. The day was blessed with fabulous weather, sunshine and 21 degrees C. Perfekt conditions for enjoying a day outdoors, a picnic, and listening as well as participating in Austrian folk dances. The dance groups name DrahdiWadln is Austrian slang and freely translates to "turn you lower legs" which is just another way of saying "let's dance". At the beginning they invited the audience to join them. They kicked their event off with a dance in which kids could participate, followed by another easy dance for anyone who had the desire to join them on the stage. Thereafter the showed off their skills. One of their dances was called "Fensterln" song. "Fensterln" refers to the traditional custom of young rural lads bringing a ladder in the evening to their lovers home high in the Alps, to climb up to the window of their persued gal. Window means Fenster, and fensterln is the act of climbing up to the window in order to get a kiss or more from the lover. Music was performed by the band "D'Unterdörfler" (translates to "the ones from the village at the bottom"). Both teams played and dances well together presenting Austrian folk music and austrian folk dances at their best. Good fun for young and old.

Vocal trance is a subgenre of trance music that focuses on vocals and melodies. The sub-genre came into existence in the early 1990s, when trance was still developing. Although many early trance records used vocal samples mixed in with the beats, the earliest examples of the style appeared in 1992-93.
A typical track consists of three elements, though later tracks labeled vocal trance may not include all of them. A track begins with an intro of progressive beats. The melodic part starts incrementally, combining vocals, usually female, a melodic sound (for the most part high pitched and fast), and a bass pattern. Towards the end of the track, the melody fades out and the intro rhythm returns, usually with some minor changes.
Vocal trance producers frequently make use of session musicians, particularly females, for vocals on their tracks. Session vocalists have been featured on tracks that span different genres and sub genres, while some vocalists have chosen to work only within the electronic club and dance music genres.
Vocal trance was popular in Europe, notably Germany, Austria, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain.
