Victims of a horrific bus attack that killed a driver and trapped more than a dozen passengers on board may not know the alleged perpetrator's fate for years.
Accused murderer Anthony Mark Edward O'Donohue remained in custody at a mental health facility on Thursday as his matter was mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

The court heard the 48-year-old still had not been referred to the mental health court as prosecutors awaited a psychiatric report to assess whether he was fit to stand trial.
Mr O'Donohue allegedly boarded a bus at Moorooka, in Brisbane's south, on October 28 and threw an "incendiary device" on driver Manmeet Sharma, who died at the scene.
He was arrested at the scene and faced 14 charges of attempted murder and one count of arson in addition to the murder charge.
"They're serious charges, obviously they've been going on for some time," Magistrate Suzette Coates said on Thursday.
"These matters seem to take, with these sort of charges, at least two to three years to proceed."
Mr O'Donohue was subject to an involuntary treatment order.
The mental health callover was adjourned until May, in the hope the report would be ready to present to court.
