Bully or straight-shooter? That is the question on Canberrans lips as they see the community tussle over development of Curtin shops unfold.
Owners of a 50-year-old block in Curtin Square have vowed to hoard up the building indefinitely if an application to redevelop it into a six-storey mixed use building is rejected.

Steve Doszpot's shock cancer diagnosis
It is sad news like this that reminds us all the politicians are not bullet-proof workaholics but are real people juggling everything that life can throw at you.
Dropping dramatic amounts of weight during and after the October election prompted ACT Parliamentarian Steve Doszpot to see a doctor.
But the news he had cancer came as a huge shock.

The ANU cracked the world's top 10 global universities
The ANU has shot up in global standing ranking seventh in a list of the 200 most international universities of 2017.
The university said being international was part of its make up and it drew great strength from the diverse backgrounds of its students, faculty and researchers.

Riders can continue lane-filtering
Motorcyclists or scooter riders have been allowed to move between stopped or slow traffic in strict conditions since a lane filtering trial began in February 2015.
Different to lane-splitting in higher speed environments, lane-filtering is legal in NSW and will continue to be allowed for ACT riders until the government finishes up the trial evaluation mid-way through the year.

Why Canberra's 2XX is playing back-up music on loop

But a tech issues has forced community radio station 2XX to suspend transmission in a "last resort" step while ongoing signal issues get cleared up.
