Nevaeh on Earth! WA's most popular 50 baby names for 2016 have been revealed, with Jack and Charlotte topping the list.
Not much seems to have changed from 2015, when bizarrely Olivia and Oliver were the most popular names for baby girls and boys.
This year they came in at six and two respectively, while Jack and Oliver have shared number one spot for boys' names the past four years.
The WA Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages said Charlotte had cemented its place as the number one name for girls after hovering at number two and three for the past few years behind names like Ava, Mia, Isla and Amelia.
Jack topped the list for boys names, by just one baby, ahead of Oliver.
The battle between Jack and Oliver for the top spot has raged for the past few years, but Jack managed to beat his rival this year by just one baby, 159 to 158.
Some new additions to the top 50 for girls were Quinn, Peyton, Marley, Marlee, Indi, Faith, Hope, Aaliyah, Daisy, Bonnie, Poppy, Aurora, Ariana, Ayla and Nevaeh - 'heaven' spelt backwards (and pronounced NA-VAY-AH).
New additions for the boys were Ryder, Ollie, Parker, Jude, Jett, Toby, Felix, Muhammad, Theodore, Arlo, Spencer, Sonny and Taj.
Birth numbers overall increased by 317 in 2016 to 35,652 and deaths were up 366 to 15,071, but marriages continued to decline in trend, falling by 446 on 2015 figures to 12,320.
