That wraps up our coverage of the 2014 MTV VMAs, a flat affair to be frank, only really livened up by a typically glamorous take-over by Beyonce singing a strong medley before dabbing away the tears as her husband presented her with the Video Vanguard award.
But really no OMG moments this year to dissect, debate and tut-tut. Nobody grabbed the microphone during an acceptance speech, stuck their tongue down a co-presenter's throat, flashed way too much of themselves or made parents everywhere wince.
Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball was the big winner, taking out the Video of the Year award. In one of the few surprising moments she chose to have a young homeless man accept the prize in her place to raise awareness of homelessness. Iggy Azalea and Sia missed out in that category, but Azalea did pick up a prize in the Best Pop Video category, where her collaboration with Ariana Grande on Problem won.
5 Seconds of Summer also won the Best Lyric Video prize for their song Don't Stop.
Ed Sheeran won Best Male Video (for Sing) and Katy Perry Best Female Video (for Dark Horse) and Lorde picked up Best Rock Video (for the rather unrocking but otherwise excellent Royals).
