Loved up and happy: Laura Carmichael and Michael Fox stepped out together at the Tyler Ellis x Petra Flannery collection anniversary party at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles Wednesday

Laura looked a far cry from her more familiar former alter ego Lady Edith Crawley, sporting a brightly coloured midi-skirt, heeled black boots and a casual black sweater.

She wore her strawberry blonde hair loose around her shoulders while a velvet gold boxy shoulder bag added to the look.

Michael meanwhile, looked casual in a pair of black jeans, charcoal grey jacket and grey trainers.

Casual but classy: Laura sported an eclectic patterned midi-skirt teamed with a black sweater and heeled boots

Laura and Michael started dating in late 2015 after falling for each other during filming of the last series of Downton Abbey.

When their romance was first made public, a Downton insider told The Sun: 'It’s very early days still but they are really enjoying each other’s company. The best part is that since the show ended they have had a lot more time to spend with each other.

'They started off as mates but quickly realised there was chemistry there and decided to start dating.

'Before that, most of their time together was at work.'

In her finery: Downton Abbey viewers are more used to seeing Laura dressed in 1920s intricate costumes

Meanwhile, the pair will be hoping to reunite on screen in a Downton movie.

‘We keep hearing the same thing, which is I think so, but I don’t really know,' Laura said during an appearance on Lorraine last October.

'It’s been talked about but it will be very tricky to figure out, but I'm sure they will try.'
