Breakfast Club star Anthony Michael Hall sued by neighbor for assault and battery months after alleged attack

Anthony Michael Hall, the star of the cult classic film The Breakfast Club, has been sued by the neighbor he is alleged to have assaulted, Richard Samson.

People have obtained the legal documents, in which Samson accuses Hall, 48, of assault, battery, intentional inflection of emotional distress, negligent inflection of emotional distress, and negligence.

Hall was charged in November with felony assault causing serious bodily injury following the alleged September attack on Samson, which the actor has pleaded not guilty to.

The alleged assault, which was captured on CCTV, apparently left Samson with a broken wrist.

Samson claims in his lawsuit that he was confronted by Hall 'in a rude or intimidating manner' in their complex's common area, and also accused him of 'offensive touching.'

The lawsuit also claims Hall 'assaulted, intimidated and battered' the plaintiff.

This resulted in Samson being left 'hurt and injured in his health, strength and activities', claims the suit.

'Plaintiff also sustained injuries to his nervous system and person, all of which have caused and continues to cause Plaintiff great mental, physical, emotional and nervous pain and suffering,' reads the suit, obtained by The Wrap

The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, according to The Wrap.

The alleged incident occurred in the courtyard of their condo complex in Playa del Rey in Los Angeles on September 13.

Samson told People of the incident in late November: 'He [Hall] got into a tussle with someone else in the complex. I heard yelling out my front door and walked out to see what was going on.

''I told him, "You need to calm down." Within two seconds, he was in my face and said some very unpleasant things to me. He then shoved me and I fell to the ground.'

Samson says upon impact he 'heard and felt' his wrist break.

Cult classic: Hall was just a teen when he shot to stardom on The Breakfast Club

Hall was charged with felony assault causing serious bodily injury following the alleged attack on his neighbor, which he pleaded not guilty to in December.

If convicted, the Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles star could face up to seven years in prison since special circumstances are alleged, TMZ reported.

It's not the first time either that Hall has been engaged in disputes with his fellow condo residents.

Claim to fame: Hall is likely best known to audiences for appearing on The Breakfast Club

Back in 2011, the TMZ says, his neighbors claimed he would scream obscenities and challenge people to fights.

Hall's big break came at age 13 when he was tapped to play Rusty Griswold in the 1985 comedy classic National Lampoon's Vacation with Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo.

He went on to star in the hit movies Sixteen Candles with Molly Ringwald in 1984 followed by The Breakfast Club in 1985, with Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Ringwald.

He has continued to work steadily in movies and television, most recently having a recurring role in season three of Murder In the First and Ben Affleck's upcoming movie Live By Night.
