Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Drake 'all plan on boycotting this year's Grammy Awards'
It used to be the most prestigious award a musician could hope to receive, but now the Grammys are having a hard time just getting their nominees to even show up.
Insiders say A-list musicians including Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Drake are all planning on boycotting the ceremony on February 12.
Despite having been nominated for four Grammys, insiders tell TMZ Justin, 22, has no intention of attending this year's awards show, and is actually making plans to be somewhere else on the day.
No show: Despite attending last year's awards show, insiders say Justin Bieber won't be attending the Grammys this year
'He just doesn't think the Grammys are relevant or representative, especially when it comes to young singers,' a source told the website.
Drake, 30 - who has eight nominations this year - will reportedly be a no-show as well, citing similar reasons to the Sorry singer.
Kanye, 39, is also up for eight awards, with insiders saying he too has no plans to attend this year's ceremony.
Over it: While he attended the Grammys in 2013, Drake is one of many musicians planning on boycotting the ceremony this year
His reason for boycotting this year's show however is racially motivated.
Sources say while the Famous singer has picked up a total of 21 trophies in the past, he's never won when going up against a white artist.
'There's no real anger, it's just that a lot of younger singers think the Grammys are out of touch and arguably irrelevant,' added the insider.
Making a statement: Kanye West - seen at the Grammys in 2015 with wife Kim Kardashian - is refusing to attend this year's awards show, despite eight nominations
In another blow for the awards show, Frank Ocean didn't even bother submitting his new album, Blonde, for consideration - despite claims it was the best album of last year.
Like Kanye, the Nikes singer believes the Grammys fails to properly represent black musicians.
'That institution certainly has nostalgic importance. It just doesn’t seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down,' the 29-year-old told the New York Times in an interview in November. 'I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated. I’d rather this be my Colin Kaepernick moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience.'
