Bundaberg

Bundaberg is a town located in the state of Queensland and it is commonly known by its nickname, "Bundy". Its major economic draw card is the local sugar cane industry. The town is also well known for its manufacturing of Bundaberg Rum, which is produced using the by-product, molasses, derived from the sugar cane. It is often said that the rum's many drinkers turn into the "Bundy Bear".

The Bundaberg Rum distillery is among the town's most popular tourist attractions as well as the Mystery Craters. Discovered in 1971, the Mystery Caters are a series of 35 water-filled holes that to this day, cannot be explained.

The town also harvests many fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, zucchinis, watermelons and sweet potatoes for commercial purposes. This makes Bundaberg a popular stop for backpackers traveling up Australia's east coast looking for a quick (hard earned) dollar, fruit picking.
