Michelle Malkin: Anti-Trump Tantrums Show The Left DOES Want Open Borders
By Michelle Malkin on January 31, 2017, 7:55 pmFor years, left-wingers would contest my use of the term "open borders lobby" because, they sternly rebuked me, nooooobody in America seriously believes in open borders.
Whelp.
This weekend, thousands of anti-Trump liberals took to the streets, airports and college campuses chanting "all are welcome" and shrieking "let them in" to protest White House executive orders enforcing our borders. In case their position wasn't clear enough, the mobs bellowed:
"No borders, no nations, f--- deportations!"
"No walls, no borders, f--- executive orders!"
Militant mayors in Seattle, Denver and New York City re-declared themselves open-borders sanctuaries--or as I call them, outlaw cities. All of California will now consider declaring itself a "sanctuary state." Radical progressive companies vowed to hire 10,000 refugees (Starbucks), provide free housing to refugees (Airbnb) and subsidize left-wing legal efforts to fight President Trump's refugee moratorium and enhanced visa-holder vetting (Lyft). SCOTUS Possibility Neil Gorsuch—Too Principled For The Current Immigration Crisis?
By John Reid on January 30, 2017, 7:39 pmSee, earlier PRO BONO Illegal Alien Volunteer Judge Thomas Hardiman Should Be Non-Starter for SCOTUS and VDARE.com’s SCOTUS Watcher Has Problems With Judge Pryor’s Immigration Record
With President Donald Trump set to pick his Supreme Court nominee on Tuesday, we should consider the ironic maxim attributed to 19th century French journalist Louis Veuillot’s : “When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.”
When out of power, the Left appeals to federalism and separation of powers to oppose Trump’s (common sense and completely legal) executive measures on immigration. When in power, it gladly wields Executive Actions to impose Open Borders undemocratically. Read more >>
Pat Buchanan: The Treason Lobby’s Weekend-Long Primal Scream Against Trump–And America
By Patrick J. Buchanan on January 30, 2017, 6:56 pmA "protest" at JFK shut down the airport.
That hysterical reaction to the travel ban announced Friday is a portent of what is to come if President Donald Trump carries out the mandate given to him by those who elected him.
The travel ban bars refugees for 120 days. From Syria, refugees are banned indefinitely. And a 90-day ban has been imposed on travel here from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen.
Was that weekend-long primal scream really justified?
As of Monday, no one was being detained at a U.S. airport.
Yet the shrieking had not stopped. All five stories on page one of Monday's Washington Post were about the abomination. The New York Times' editorial, "Trashing American Ideals and Security," called it bigoted, cowardly, xenophobic, Islamophobic, un-American, unrighteous. Read more >>
Refugee Ranting Further Proof: MSM Is The “Opposition Party”
By James Kirkpatrick on January 29, 2017, 11:14 pmVDARE.com reader “Virginia Paleoconservative” writes:
In today [January 29]’s Washington Post, the Sunday hard copy edition, the main “A” Section is almost totally devoted to critical or even semi-hysterical articles about President Trump’s immigration executive order. Therefore, per the emphasis in WaPo, this topic is more important than virtually every other area of news that is occurring in the world today! This is another indication of a total journalistic breakdown at WaPo whose unofficial motto should be “Get Trump”.
And American Thinker Editor Thomas Lifson confirms: Stunning media malpractice on Trump suspension of entry [January 29, 2017]
This orchestrated refugee ranting is the latest proof of something I’ve been saying for over two years: the Main Stream Media is the enemy. As key Trump strategist and former Breitbart head Steve Bannon, never one to back away from a scrap, said last week, journalists are the “opposition party” [ Steve Bannon torches New York Times: “You Have No Power,” Breitbart, January 26, 2017]. He’s right.
Or, perhaps, only half-right. Though Trump is President of the United States, when it comes to who hold real power in the United States, he and other patriots are still the underdogs.
Needless to say, the MSM immediately started screaming about Bannon and Trump trying to shut down the press. They proclaimed they were going to continue confronting the President. Some outlets championed Jake Tapper’s “no” to Bannon as some kind of drop-the-mic moment for the First Amendment. [ CNN’s Jake Tapper gave a one-word response to a top Trump adviser’s attack on journalists , by Bryan Logan, Business Insider, January 26, 2017] Read more >>
