The Australian Electoral Commission has released the latest batch of donations disclosures - this time for the 2015-16 financial year.

Explore the interactive tools below to reveal the scale and impact of money on Australia's political system.

These charts are based on donations records submitted by the donors themselves. In 2015-16, donors were required to declare any amount over $13,000, although many declare much smaller amounts.

In 2015-16, more than 330 entities - these can be people, companies (including their individual branches or subsidiaries) or organisations such as unions - gave more $27.8 million to Australian political parties.

Notably, these figures exclude money donated via "associated entities", which raise money for affiliated political parties. Associated entities file their records separately.
