WA Police are some of the hardest workers in the state, but it's cases like these which can help them solve crimes quicker than expected.
Police put out a statement on Wednesday afternoon saying the man was captured on CCTV just before he stole the camera.
The footage shows the man dressed in shorts, thongs and a t-shirt with a distinctive tattoo on his left arm, reaching for the camera outside a business in Mandurah.

"The irony of the thing you allegedly stole being the one thing that gets you caught," a statement said WA Police Facebook page. "Fortunately for them it kept on recording enough to get these images." Police said the man in the images may be able to assist them with their inquiries. Anyone with information on the identity of the male should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
