Children home where bodies found

Children have escaped unharmed from a Pimpama house where a man and a woman were found dead on Tuesday morning. Nine News

Officers arrived to find two dead bodies, a 52-year-old male and 40-year-old woman, who were known to each other but police would not confirm it was a domestic incident.

Detective Inspector Mark Thompson said the deaths were being treated as suspicious and no third party was involved but it was too early to say whether the deaths were the result of a murder suicide.

"Any death of this nature is treated as suspicious so it's very difficult for me to say murder suicide at this point in time," he said.

Inspector Thompson said there was no indication of a firearm but couldn't comment on any injuries, saying forensic officers were still working their way through the crime scene.

Neighbours on the suburban estate new enough to not be properly listed on Google Maps were shocked to hear about such an awful event in a normally quiet neighbourhood.

"It's very quiet. Nothing really ever happening," one neighbour, Storm Bacon, said.

"There's not really ever a commotion so this is a bit of a crazy thing to have happened. It's a bit scary. I'm not sure if i want to move now or not."

Several neighbours said they saw children from the house playing in the street but didn't know their parents well.

Next-door neighbour Tom Jarman said his housemate heard some yelling but didn't think much of it, while he slept through the whole thing.

Across the road, even Ron Waller's three small, yappy dogs didn't make a commotion.

"Normally our dogs would have gone off, had we been up and they were out," he said.

"Its normally a quiet sort of an area. We've only been here about three of four months."
