Rachel James’ life took a dramatic and unexpected turn when she answered the phone on the 1st of February, 2012.
Rachel was told her 22-year-old daughter Emily had fallen while skiing in America and that Emily had broken her neck and would never walk again.
Over the next few years, Rachel has worked tirelessly as Emily’s carer, helping her daughter cope with life as a quadriplegic.
To coincide with National Carers Week, Rachel has written a book about her experience titled Suddenly and Everyday Carer, with the proceeds going towards SpinalCure Australia. Rachel joined Kayley and Luke on the FiftyUp Club show to share her story.
