2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
For the second time in a fortnight, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has issued recalls for its Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque SUVs.
Last week, the recalls covered potential suspension issues, while the latest recall concerns the vehicle’s engine wiring harness.
The carmaker says the harness may have been routed incorrectly, and vibrations from the engine may cause the wiring insulation to wear.
Should this occur, the wiring may be allowed to make contact with metallic parts resulting in a short circuit. Outcomes may include a warning light for the driver, a loss of electric steering assistance, a loss of engine power or, in extreme circumstances, a fire.
Given the risk of fire, JLR recommends affected vehicles be parked outside away from valuable property until the recall has been performed.
Affected models are fitted with the 2.0 litre diesel engine matched with an automatic transmission, built for the 2016 and 2017 model-years.
A total of 797 vehicles are on the recall list for Australia, comprising 300 Evoques and 497 Discovery Sports, built between July and October last year.
Jaguar Land Rover will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
