West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan has revealed that Dimitri Payet didn't speak to his team-mates for eight weeks before his £25million move to Marseille. Former fans' favourite Payet had been refusing to play for the Hammers, and finally got a move back to Marseille at the end of the transfer window. While West Ham were initially unwilling to sell, Sullivan has revealed the circumstances which made it near-impossible to keep him at the club.

It has been a long time since Bastian Schweinsteiger has been able to take a casual Monday stroll after a weekend where he starred in a Manchester United victory. Anthony Joshua headed off to Baltimore on Sunday to visit Under Armour's headquarters with his promoter Eddie Hearn. Heavyweight boxer Joshua, who has a sponsorship deal with the sporting brand, took to Instagram to post a photo himself hanging out with Hearn on a plane, captioning the post: 'Baltimore bound.' Two Moreirense players appeared to be hit by missiles thrown from the crowd as fan trouble overshadowed the Portuguese League Cup final on Sunday night. Moreirense, from a small town with a population of around 5,000 people, claimed their first major silverware after a 1-0 win over Braga sealed a fairytale route to the trophy. But much of the focus was drawn to the scenes after Caue Cecilio’s winning goal, as firecrackers were thrown on to the pitch and two Moreirense players fell to the ground in the immediate aftermath.
