DATA CONSUMPTION

If you choose to watch videos on the SBS On Demand app over your mobile provider’s network, you should take your data quota into consideration. This is the amount of data that your mobile phone company allows you to download each month at no extra cost. Should you exceed this quota, you may need to pay for extra costs.

Prior to using the SBS On Demand app on a mobile network, SBS recommends that you confirm with your mobile phone provider what your data quota is, as well as what the costs are for exceeding this quota. It is important that you monitor your usage to ensure that you don’t exceed your limit.

Please find below an approximate guide as to how much data could be consumed watching a SBS On Demand video on a mobile provider’s network. This assumes watching over a strong 3G connection, when data consumption is highest, and assumes that no data has been consumed other than via watching the video:

• 60 minute video - up to 675MB of data
• 30 minute video - up to 340MB of data
• 10 minute video - up to 115MB of data
• 5 minute video - up to 50MB of data

Watching SBS On Demand on any Apple device is metered regardless of your ISP.

Due to rights restrictions, most videos on SBS On Demand are geo-blocked to Australia.

Total failure

It was bad before, but after the latest update your app is now totally DEFUNCT. It always had hiccup issues when the advertisements kicked in, but now it is unable to go past the first ad and gets permanently stuck there. That's on the iPad2. On the iPad3 it is even worse. Same problem as with iPad2 but in addition there is NO PICTURE, only sound. ADVERTISERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS PROBLEM AND ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK AS POTENTIAL VIEWERS ARE UNABLE TO WATCH. Oh, almost forgot, having to sign in before using this app does not impress me either.

You can't sign in to your account on Apple TV

Sure there's now an Apple TV app but you can't log into your account on it, so if you have favourites you can't access them. You have to do the whole search process to find the show, find the right episode etc. Or else sit in front of your large screen TV & watch it on a phone. Stupid. I only got it because I wanted to be able to save favourites on the TV

Updated and now working great

The previously un-useable is now back to wonderful (at least on my Apple TV) and is now back to being our my used streaming channel, Thanks.
Now if we can just get the news updated a little more often, we may hit perfect.
