If you’re looking for a home in the District where the median price is $550,000 and your budget is under $400,000, you’re likely to need to move a little farther from downtown or into a smaller or older place. But moving out of the city doesn’t necessarily require giving up access to amenities or public transit.

In addition, residents are about two miles from the Franconia-Springfield Metro station and just under three miles from the Van Dorn Street Metro station. Commuter buses serve the area and link residents to Metro.
