Hello and welcome to 2017 Lunch. You look great.

I'm so excited to be sharing this wonderful meal with you every day. Sure, it might not have the gravitas of breakfast, or the kick up your heels attitude of dinner, but lunch is a meal full of potential. Of hope. Of momentum.

With that in mind, here's a list of some of the best lunches I've ever had:

Crunchy peanut butter on very white bread + chocolate milkStraight out of the Grade 4 playbook, this lunch is a classic, easily eaten on the go, no matter where you are.

Gözleme + overpriced homestyle lemonadeYou're hungover, you're at a festival and your body craves carbs and sugar. A gözleme is like Melbourne weather — sometimes dry and hot, sometimes soggy. The dream: a Turkish pancake that is the perfect balance of both.

Miso cured salmon on cold soba noodlesYou know this is a fancy lunch because the noodles are served cold. I assume this dish was discovered because the first person to eat it was too busy counting their money to eat the noodles when they're hot. If you ever get a chance, indulge yourself.

Cold pizzaLess fancy than cold soba noodles and 300% tastier than hot pizza.
