This doughnuts recipe makes great tasting doughnuts (donuts) that will be a favourite with friends and family. More information on this donut recipe can be found at http://www.cookeryskills.com/recipes/cake-and-pastry-recipes/doughnuts/.
The ingredients for making approx. 12 hot ring doughnuts are as follows:
350g strong white flour
Pinch salt
30g caster sugar
50g margarine
7g fast-action dried yeast
65ml warm milk
65ml warm water
1 large egg, beaten
Vegetable oil, to deep fry
For the coating:
3 tablespoons caster sugar
½ tablespoon ground cinnamon

I recently hosted a giveaway with Petite Four Miniatures jewelry, which inspired me to make these mini donut cookies. Two of my very favorite things are tiny foods and donuts, so this was inevitable.
Rather than baking my usual cookie recipe and decorating it with royal icing, I decided to try something different. I wanted these mini donut cookies to look as realistic as possible, so I needed a cookie dough that was soft enough to be piped out of a decorating tip to give it dimension and also hold its shape in the oven. I threw some ingredients together and the end result looked a lot like a pâte à choux (the dough that’s used to make eclairs and cream puffs). But, unlike eclairs and cream puffs, these little cookies are crunchy. Scroll down for the full recipe.
The icing is made with a simple mixture of powdered sugar and water. I added some cocoa powder for the chocolate glaze and a dab of Wilton pink gel paste food coloring to make the pink glaze.
Here’s the full list of supplies that you’ll need for this project.
“Cookie donut” dough (recipe below)
Donut glaze (recipe below)
12″ decorating bags
Round decorating tips 2 and 10
Star decorating tip 21
Pink gel paste food coloring
Scribe tool
Rainbow nonpareils
Confectioners sugar for dusting
Cocoa powder for dusting
Soft round brush
“Cookie Donut” Dough
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Place the sugar and egg into a bowl and mix well. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Once the wet ingredients are combined, add the flour and baking powder and continue to mix until the dough is smooth.
Pipe the dough out onto parchment lined baking sheets with a round tip 10 for donuts, eclairs, cinnamon buns and Boston cream and use a star tip 21 to pipe crullers. The donuts should be about 1 to 1-1/2″. I noticed that the dough took on an oily appearance after a while, so try to move as quickly as possible once the dough is in the piping bag. I’m sure there is a way to resolve the problem of oily dough, but the cookies came out of the oven just as I wanted, so I didn’t go back and experiment with the recipe.
Bake the cookies at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown around the bottom edges. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
Donut Glaze
Combine 1/2 cup confectioners sugar with 2-3 teaspoons of water. Add pink gel paste food coloring to some of the white glaze to make pink glaze. To make chocolate glaze, combine 1/2 cup confections sugar with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder plus 3-4 teaspoons of water.

Doughnut
A doughnut or donut (/ˈdoʊnət/ or /ˈdoʊnʌt/; see spelling differences) is a type of fried dough confectionery or dessert food. The doughnut is popular in many countries and prepared in various forms as a sweet snack that can be homemade or purchased in bakeries, supermarkets, food stalls, and franchised specialty outlets. Doughnuts are usually deep-fried from a flour dough, and typically either ring-shaped or without a hole, and often filled. Other types of batters can also be used, and various toppings and flavorings are used for different types, such as sugar, chocolate, or maple glazing. In addition to flour, doughnuts may also include such ingredients as water, leavening, eggs, milk, sugar, oil/shortening, natural flavors and/or artificial flavors.
The two most common types are the toroidal ring doughnut and the filled doughnut—which is injected with fruit preserves, cream, custard, or other sweet fillings. A small spherical piece of dough may be cooked as a doughnut hole. Once doughnuts have been fried, they may be glazed with a sugar icing, spread with icing or chocolate, or topped with powdered sugar or sprinkles. Other shapes include rings, balls, and flattened spheres, as well as ear shapes, twists and other forms. Doughnut varieties are also divided into cake and yeast-risen type doughnuts. Donuts are often accompanied by coffee when they are purchased at doughnut shops or fast food restaurants.

Little
Little is a surname in the English language. The name is ultimately derived from the Middle English littel, and the Old English lȳtel, which mean "little". In some cases the name was originally a nickname for a little man. In other cases, the name was used to distinguish the younger of two bearers of the same personal name. Early records of the name include: Litle, in 972; Litle, in about 1095; and le Lytle, in 1296. The surname has absorbed several non English-language surnames. I recently hosted a giveaway with Petite Four Miniatures jewelry, which inspired me to make these mini donut cookies. Two of my very favorite things are tiny foods and donuts, so this was inevitable. Rather than baking my usual cookie recipe and decorating it with royal icing, I decided to try something different. I wanted these mini donut cookies to look as realistic as possible, so I needed a cookie dough that was soft enough to be piped out of a decorating tip to give it dimension and also hold its shape in the oven. I threw some ingredients together and the end result looked a lot like a pâte à choux (the dough that’s used to make eclairs and cream puffs). But, unlike eclairs and cream puffs, these little cookies are crunchy. Scroll down for the full recipe. The icing is made with a simple mixture of powdered sugar and water. I added some cocoa powder for the chocolate glaze and a dab of Wilton pink gel paste food coloring to make the pink glaze. Here’s the full list of supplies that you’ll need for this project. “Cookie donut” dough (recipe below) Donut glaze (recipe below) 12″ decorating bags Round decorating tips 2 and 10 Star decorating tip 21 Pink gel paste food coloring Scribe tool Rainbow nonpareils Confectioners sugar for dusting Cocoa powder for dusting Soft round brush “Cookie Donut” Dough 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 4 tablespoons melted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 cup all-purpose flour Place the sugar and egg into a bowl and mix well. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Once the wet ingredients are combined, add the flour and baking powder and continue to mix until the dough is smooth. Pipe the dough out onto parchment lined baking sheets with a round tip 10 for donuts, eclairs, cinnamon buns and Boston cream and use a star tip 21 to pipe crullers. The donuts should be about 1 to 1-1/2″. I noticed that the dough took on an oily appearance after a while, so try to move as quickly as possible once the dough is in the piping bag. I’m sure there is a way to resolve the problem of oily dough, but the cookies came out of the oven just as I wanted, so I didn’t go back and experiment with the recipe. Bake the cookies at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown around the bottom edges. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating. Donut Glaze Combine 1/2 cup confectioners sugar with 2-3 teaspoons of water. Add pink gel paste food coloring to some of the white glaze to make pink glaze. To make chocolate glaze, combine 1/2 cup confections sugar with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder plus 3-4 teaspoons of water. How To Make Mini Donut Cookies!
I recently hosted a giveaway with Petite Four Miniatures jewelry, which inspired me to make these mini donut cookies. Two of my very favorite things are tiny foods and donuts, so this was inevitable. Rather than baking my usual cookie recipe and decorating it with royal icing, I decided to try something different. I wanted these mini donut cookies to look as realistic as possible, so I needed a cookie dough that was soft enough to be piped out of a decorating tip to give it dimension and also hold its shape in the oven. I threw some ingredients together and the end result looked a lot like a pâte à choux (the dough that’s used to make eclairs and cream puffs). I recently hosted a giveaway with Petite Four Miniatures jewelry, which inspired me to make these mini donut cookies. Two of my very favorite things are tiny foods and donuts, so this was inevitable.
Rather than baking my usual cookie recipe and decorating it with royal icing, I decided to try something different. I wanted these mini donut cookies to look as realistic as possible, so I needed a cookie dough that was soft enough to be piped out of a decorating tip to give it dimension and also hold its shape in the oven. I threw some ingredients together and the end result looked a lot like a pâte à choux (the dough that’s used to make eclairs and cream puffs). But, unlike eclairs and cream puffs, these little cookies are crunchy. Scroll down for the full recipe.
The icing is made with a simple mixture of powdered sugar and water. I added some cocoa powder for the chocolate glaze and a dab of Wilton pink gel paste food coloring to make the pink glaze.
Here’s the full list of supplies that you’ll need for this project.
“Cookie donut” dough (recipe below)

12″ decorating bags
Round decorating tips 2 and 10
Star decorating tip 21
Pink gel paste food coloring
Scribe tool
Rainbow nonpareils
Confectioners sugar for dusting
Cocoa powder for dusting
Soft round brush
“Cookie Donut” Dough
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Place the sugar and egg into a bowl and mix well. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Once the wet ingredients are combined, add the flour and baking powder and continue to mix until the dough is smooth.
Pipe the dough out onto parchment lined baking sheets with a round tip 10 for donuts, eclairs, cinnamon buns and Boston cream and use a star tip 21 to pipe crullers. The donuts should be about 1 to 1-1/2″. I noticed that the dough took on an oily appearance after a while, so try to move as quickly as possible once the dough is in the piping bag. I’m sure there is a way to resolve the problem of oily dough, but the cookies came out of the oven just as I wanted, so I didn’t go back and experiment with the recipe.
Bake the cookies at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown around the bottom edges. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
Donut Glaze

I recently hosted a giveaway with Petite Four Miniatures jewelry, which inspired me to make these mini donut cookies. Two of my very favorite things are tiny foods and donuts, so this was inevitable.
Rather than baking my usual cookie recipe and decorating it with royal icing, I decided to try something different. I wanted these mini donut cookies to look as realistic as possible, so I needed a cookie dough that was soft enough to be piped out of a decorating tip to give it dimension and also hold its shape in the oven. I threw some ingredients together and the end result looked a lot like a pâte à choux (the dough that’s used to make eclairs and cream puffs). But, unlike eclairs and cream puffs, these little cookies are crunchy. Scroll down for the full recipe.
The icing is made with a simple mixture of powdered sugar and water. I added some cocoa powder for the chocolate glaze and a dab of Wilton pink gel paste food coloring to make the pink glaze.
Here’s the full list of supplies that you’ll need for this project.
“Cookie donut” dough (recipe below)
Donut glaze (recipe below)
12″ decorating bags
Round decorating tips 2 and 10
Star decorating tip 21
Pink gel paste food coloring
Scribe tool
Rainbow nonpareils
Confectioners sugar for dusting
Cocoa powder for dusting
Soft round brush
“Cookie Donut” Dough
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Place the sugar and egg into a bowl and mix well. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Once the wet ingredients are combined, add the flour and baking powder and continue to mix until the dough is smooth.
Pipe the dough out onto parchment lined baking sheets with a round tip 10 for donuts, eclairs, cinnamon buns and Boston cream and use a star tip 21 to pipe crullers. The donuts should be about 1 to 1-1/2″. I noticed that the dough took on an oily appearance after a while, so try to move as quickly as possible once the dough is in the piping bag. I’m sure there is a way to resolve the problem of oily dough, but the cookies came out of the oven just as I wanted, so I didn’t go back and experiment with the recipe.
Bake the cookies at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown around the bottom edges. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
