Research shows the importance of seniors' wealth and spending
A recent study into Fairfax Media’s The Senior publication provided insights into readers and their behaviours around travel, money & investments and health and fitness. The study showed just how much impact the 55+ audience has in driving major expenditure across these categories.
Findings included:
- 55% of The Senior audience reports the value of their assets at over $500,000. Close to 1-in-5 report the value at $1 million or more
- 81% of our readers own their own home outright. 13% also own an investment property with over a third of investors having more than one property
- Over two-thirds intend to take an international holiday in the next 12 months, with three-quarters being away for 15 days or longer. The average planning time for an overseas holiday is 6-12 months
