The 2013 Suzuki Gladius 650cc V-Twin has arrived in Australian showrooms.

There has been a healthy boost to motorcycles available under the Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS) in the Australian market recently, and the Gladius is one of the relatively few 650cc offerings.

The 2013 model offers new colour schemes and refreshed styling to what Suzuki describes as “a fun package suitable for a broad range of riders”.

The Gladius is a naked sports-bike, powered by a 645cc, fuel-injected, DOHC, V-Twin engine. Suzuki claims the engine offers a broad power-band, with impressive low-range torque.

New colour schemes include grey / black, blue / white or black alone.

Suzuki's advanced Dual Throttle Value (SDTV) fuel injection system is fitted, along with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Materials (SCEM) cylinder coating and automatic Idle Speed Control (ISC).

The Japanese bike-builder claims that this technology enhances performance while reducing maintenance requirements and emissions.

Styling for the new Gladius includes a stainless steel muffler cover, five-spoke aluminium-alloy wheels and a distinctive multi-reflector headlight.

Braking is dealt with via twin dual floating 290mm front disc brakes and a single 240mm rear disc brake.

The Suzuki Gladius 650cc V-Twin is on sale now, with prices starting from $10,490 (plus on-road costs). The bike is backed by a two-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
