Not thrilled
Below AND my "most recent" shows the top five recent stories. I want to see everyone's updates
This still applies.... And I'll add that there's no quality check because the app crashes and eats your battery.
I would have thought that since the app is on its umpteenth version/update, that the many glitches would be figured out and repairs made. I still don't get all of my notifications in a timely manner. I still don't see the full content of my newsfeed (it shows on my desktop version). I still don't see all the comments I or other people have made on a post (regardless on whether it is my own post or someone else's). And I still don't receive most messages/notifications as a push message on my phone. I find myself frequently going to the Safari Facebook site and looking at things from there. It's not great either but it is far better than the app. This app is a joke, and the only reason I really put up with it is that it is a little easier to upload photos (which I do often) from the app than the safari site.
FaceBook What?
For the life of me, I cannot figure out what all the hoopla is about Facebook. Facebook has always seemed to be more of a marketing lure and ID trap than a useful device. I can't understand the interface instructions that normally follow the opening of most tabs. I cannot understand how clicking anything might make it more useful to me. I am starting to believe that MSM has always lied about Facebook being as popular as it really is. Who uses Facebook and why? Is Facebook really the place where people show face to stay in touch with family and friends? I don't think so. But as far as this mobile phone Facebook app goes, it opens and does seem more manageable than the Facebook website. It still does too many things automatically that I don't want it to do, for example showing me a list of people that I may know everyday just because I know someone that they may know. How do you turn that off? Facebook and this new app is nothing special.
Constantly crashing
This app has become worse over the years, with the push to use messenger, and the auto play of videos. It has slowed down the use consistently. But now, loading pages is too much for the app. It is impossible for me to load any page at all, and crashes with out warning. Also, I am unhappy that it pulls up my photos on the app. I never once accepted that. After a few months of pressing later on the notification, it just began to show me my recent photos. This is too much. I didn't want to disable photos entirely, but I also don't want to worry about photos being right there ready to post. It's an invasion of privacy, and for that, I will have to delete the app.
