Dallas (/ˈdæləs/) is a major city in the state of Texas and is the largest urban center of the fourth most populous metropolitan area in the United States. The city proper ranks ninth in the U.S. and third in Texas after Houston and San Antonio. The city's prominence arose from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, and its position along numerous railroad lines. The bulk of the city is in Dallas County, of which it is the county seat; however, sections of the city are located in Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties. According to the 2010 United States Census, the city had a population of 1,197,816. The United States Census Bureau's estimate for the city's population increased to 1,281,047, as of 2014.
DeKalb County may refer to one of six counties in the United States:

A family from Dallas, Texas traveled all the way to Atlanta Wednesday just to adopt a dog from the DeKalb County Animal Shelter. Kendall York and Dawn Reeves said they saw a dog that needed a foster home online, but because they lived out of the state, they could not take him in. The couple was so impacted by the many dogs up for adoption at the shelter they decided to travel to DeKalb County to adopt one. “Your heart just reaches out to certain ones, so I think it was just meant to be, to travel here,” said Dawn Reeves. The couple traveled to Atlanta a few days ago to look at the dogs up for adoption at the DeKalb County Animal Shelter. They felt an instant connection with a two-year-old pit bull mix named Mekhi. “It was the way he interacted with the kids,” said Kendall York. “He just m...

Dallas - Texas Travel guide, Vacation, Tourism World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ Dallas is a young city with all the vigour of youth. Effigies of modern architecture rise like glass trees out of the downtown area. In 1841, it was simply a plan of 20 streets on the 256 hectares (640 acres) of south central America, claimed by a Tennessee lawyer, John Neely Bryan. Today, it is the ninth largest city in the USA, and including its western neighbour of Fort Worth, it is the nation's fastest growing metropolitan area. Thriving at the bottom edge of America's Great Plains, Dallas has embraced dreamers and entrepreneurs for the better part of two centuries. Big D, as it's affectionately called, merges Southern hos...

FTBA 2013 FTBA went into the year with some simple goals – Keep It Simple. KIS it was not, we introduced the JWM2013 and a Club camp, plus put riders into polar opposites conditions with challenging to absolutely perfect swell and winds. We did how ever meet our goal for development and education. 3 riders trained up in Judging (level 1) and 15 members attended the coaching session provided by Da Boogie Man and Ryan Hardy Bodyboard School. We planted our feet in the sand and were showing development and progression from round 1 through out the year, all riders have shown massive growth. The introduction of Jeff Wilcox Memorial most found encouraging yet challenging. We are excited with rebuilding this event and have big dreams for future years from the event and our members. "I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4 seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me." So, for her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale. Charles Albright, who is thought to have callously murdered three women in Dallas to satisfy his bizarre taste for mutilation. As an adopted child in the 1930s, Albright was brought up in a strict household, but shared an unusual past time with his mother: taxidermy. It developed into a true passion, but the frugal parent would never allow the young boy to insert any eyes – instead he had to be satisfied with buttons. This experience sparked an obsession that steadily grew until 1990, when the 57 year old struck terror though Oak Cliff’s red light district with a string of unprecedented murders, marked by the horrific extraction of the victims’ eyes. Charles Albright received a life sentence in 1991 and remains in prison to this day.
