  • Preparing the plan

    Releasing more land for housing will mean Sydneysiders have access to a range of homes that suit different needs, budgets and lifestyle choices.  It also helps to place downward pressure on housing prices. We have also recently updated the minimum lot sizes for semi-detached dwellings in the priority growth areas so that we can provide more housing choice and cater to different needs.

    We are helping to build new communities in precincts like Oran Park, Turner Road, East LeppingtonAustral and Leppington North, Edmondson Park and Catherine Fields. We are also planning for new communities in Lowes Creek and Marylands (part).

    Our work will help to better connect new suburbs with the planned second Sydney airport at Badgerys Creek and the Broader Western Sydney Employment Area.

    This includes making the most of the Government’s investment in major infrastructure like the Camden Valley Way, Bringelly Road, Northern Road upgrades and the South West Rail Link.

    We are also making sure there’s funding for essential services including main roads, water mains and sewer carriers.

    The new plans we are developing will help to provide more certainty for the community, businesses and local government on timings for land release.

    Detailed planning for stage 1 of Leppington has now also been finalised.

    Miscellaneous amendments SEPP

    Minor amendments have been made to State Environmental Planning Policy (Sydney Region Growth Centres) 2006 (Growth Centres SEPP) for a number of the priority precincts in the south west priority growth area.

    The amendments include instrument and mapping amendments to correct errors and ensure consistency across the Growth Centres SEPP to Precincts within the Camden, Campbelltown and Liverpool Local Governments Areas. The changes include:

    • amending Appendix 1 Oran Park and Turner Road Precinct Plan to insert a definition for the ‘size of secondary dwellings’ and map a transition area to the heritage listed Denbigh Homestead;

    • amending Appendix 8 Liverpool Growth Centres Precinct Plan to correct a zoning error for twelve lots;

    • amending Appendix 9 Camden Growth Centres Precinct Plan to include additional uses in the R2 Low Density Zone, alter the riparian corridor, replace the definition of ‘net developable area’ and correct heritage listing information; and

    • amending Appendix 10 Campbelltown Growth Centres Precinct Plan to correct heritage item numbering
