About Ilya Romanov situation (Russia)

Sunday, May 15th, 2016

Ilya was recently 14 days in a hole. Prison administration has said that their superiors have ordered that everyone sentenced for “terrorist” crimes must be put on a special pressure. Ilya is not beaten up by guards, but there is a constant pressure in form of administrative punishments.

Moscow ABC has hired a lawyer from a local village to help Ilya with this, as this was the cheapest alternative.

Court hearings on the case of political prisoner Ilya Romanov started June 16 (Russia)

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015

On June 2 preliminary hearing regarding the case of anarchist political prisoner Ilya Romanov from Nizhnii Novgorod was conducted in Moscow District Military Court. Ilya took part in the court session via video conference link. The court rejected all the petitions of the defendant’s lawyer, Evgeny Gubin, including the petition to cancel his “non-disclosure” pledge, which the investigating bodies made him to sign.

Moscow District Military Court starts hearing of the Romanov’s case on June 16 at 11:00. Sessions will be held in the building of Nizhegorodskii Regional Court (Russia, Nizhnii Novgorod, Bolshaya Pokrovskaya str., 17).

Nizhnii Novgorod regional department of the Federal Security Service (“FSB”) accuses Ilya of preparing a terrorist attack (the “attack” didn’t occur at all) and an attempt for justification of terrorism. The very fact of such double “might-have-been terrorism” in Russian province (where nobody has seen a single terrorist throughout the recent history at all), performed by one political activist, tells directly about political bias in this case.

Arson attack on Royal Marine Reserves in Bristol (UK)

Tuesday, February 11th, 2014

11-02-2014, Royal Marine Reserve base in Clifton, Bristol.

Military propaganda portrays the armed forces as protectors of ‘the people’. Since the first civilisations this has been used to justify conquest and occupation of territory for the ruling classes, sacrificing their lackeys to build up empires big or small.

We’re expected to believe (or at least act as if we believe) that what’s in the politicians, the generals and the economists interests is really in our interests.

But we’re not fooled. This morning smoke rose above Clifton from the two vans and one large white personnel transporter we’d torched with low-tech firestarters after breaching the compound of the Royal Marine Reserve’s Bristol detachment, who’ve been deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s disgusting how these part-time commandos think they can operate here with immunity while elsewhere they and their colleagues slaughter, rape and terrorize. Alexander Blackman – the British Marine executioner exposed recently for his actions in Afghanistan – is only one example of their systematic wider brutality, and not the pitied aberration he’s painted as. Besides, wherever the military are they’re a symbol of the State domination they enforce. Perhaps to anyone with a view over this compound that symbol is now a little shaken. For the gears of the warmachine these guerrilla strikes behind the lines remain a constant threat. (more…)
