Super heroes save lives with their strength and abilities but a Florida comic book store worker has become a real hero to LGBTQ people around the world.
Mary Swangin tells the story on her Twitter account @sapphicgeek and a word of warning, it's OK to get a little choked up.
For those who aren't up to date with the evolution of Supergirl, main character Alex Danvers (who is the adopted sister of Supergirl) began experimenting with her sexuality and eventually came to the realisation she was gay.
Mary's story has struck a chord with people all over the world and got back to actor Chyler Leigh, who plays Danvers on Supergirl.
"Mary...This story. This right here is what Heroes are made of. You are AMAZING!! I absolutely admire you and will share this!" Leigh said on Twitter.
Amazing. Please read this thread from @sapphicgeek This is what a real life #Supergirl looks like. All we need is love, respect & kindness https://t.co/AIuQfXHIxM

The support group thanked Mary for bringing them to happy tears and being a "beacon of hope for our youth".
Well now we're crying too.
