The Viper will now face John Cena for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 33.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) put on a spectacular Royal Rumble on Monday morning as 30 athletes went head-to-head in a battle royale to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 33.

The highlight of the event, of course, was the clash between the three icons - Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and The Undertaker. The showdown, though, turned out to be disappointing as the holy trinity didn't manage to create much of an impact on the showpiece Royal Rumble match.

Lesnar was the first of the three to walk out at No. 26. The Beast immediately showed his dominance by flooring each and every fighter in the ring and standing tall above them. But it didn't take long for Goldberg, who walked in at No. 28, to do a repeat of Survivor Series. The legend wasted little time in hitting Lesnar with a devastating spear and knocking him out of the ring.

The Undertaker, who entered at No. 29, rolled back the years by making a stunning entry. The Dead Man surprised all by not walking in but already being present as the lights came on after his entry music. He and Goldberg then created a moment for the ages as they stared down each other in the centre of the ring. That moment was short-lived, though, as The Phenom put an end to Goldberg's short burst by knocking him out.

Roman Reigns was the last one to walk into the Rumble and the Big Dog didn't disappoint. Reigns was quick to send bodies flying out of the ring, including that of The Undertaker, and soon it was just him, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton left in the ring.

Orton, who recently became a part of the Wyatt family, teamed up with Bray to try to knock out Reigns. The two set him up to deliver their respective finishing moves - Sister Abigail and The RKO - but Reigns was quick to foil their plans and hit them with a Superman Punch each and threw Wyatt over the ropes.

But as fans in the arena in San Antonio, Texas, thought that Reigns would run away with the match, The Viper pulled off a stunning upset by nailing an RKO and throwing Reigns over the ropes to win the Royal Rumble match.

Orton will now face John Cena - who had earlier defeated AJ Styles and become the WWE Championship - for the title at Wrestlemania 33 in April.
