Another day of protest is underway across the country, as people take to the streets to demonstrate against Donald Trump's controversial immigration executive order. Events were underway in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington DC in the early afternoon on Sunday. Overhead shots from the protest in Boston, held in Copley Square, showed the area overflowing with people. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh was seen in a video late Saturday night urging people to attend the demonstration, telling the crowd: 'Make sure you join us. Stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters.' There were a number of protests scheduled across New York, with a huge crowd already seen gathered at Battery Park - which provided a clear view of the Statue of Liberty out in the water. The Manhattan event was organized by Make the Road New York - with demonstrators set to march from Battery Park to the Customs and Border Patrol offices. There are also protests planned in Brooklyn and Queens. In Dallas, people gathered to pray together in the baggage claim at Dallas Fort Worth Airport to protest Trump. Another demonstration in suburban Chicago was organized by Jewish groups to show support for Muslims, while there were more at Miami International Airport, and LAX.

A teenage Muslim girl says her Iranian father has been blocked from visiting the U.S. for her 16th birthday, after 11 years apart. Malikeh Sharifi (left), 15, told Australia's Nine News from a protest (right) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) she had cried herself to sleep in their long time apart. But Malikeh said she would not change herself to fit with Trump's America.

A 23-year-old dental student from France won the Miss Universe crown Monday in the annual pageant held this year in the Philippines. Iris Mittenaere from the small town of Lille in northern France said in reply to a final question from pageant host Steve Harvey that she would be honored if she just landed among the three finalists, but was visibly stunned when she was announced the winner among the field of 86 contestants. Mittenaere was speechless and put her hands on her face as the outgoing winner from the Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, crowned her as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause at the packed Mall of Asia Arena by Manila Bay. In her profile, she said she would "advocate for dental and oral hygiene" if she takes home the crown.

Animal lovers and good Samaritans are being asked to donate money to help rehabilitate an emaciated dog that was found tied up outside in the freezing cold in suburban Ohio on Saturday. The two-year-old pit bull mix, Amos (above), was recovered by Fido's Companion Rescue and admitted to West Park Animal Hospital over the weekend. He was found in Lorain, Ohio, with two large bedsores on his backside (inset), the result of prolonged periods of time being confined to a cage.

Television icon Mary Tyler Moore was laid to rest in Connecticut on Sunday in a quiet farewell attended by her close family and friends. The 80-year-old beloved actress died last Wednesday at age 80 in Greenwich after suffering from a host of problems, including diabetes which she was diagnosed with at age 33. The funeral service for the television legend was private and the cemetery was closed to the public as local police officers blocked the entrance on Sunday. The small group of about 50 mourners, including her husband Dr. Robert Levine (left and center inset) entered a small white chapel for a brief service before her internment. Moore's family purchased a 12-plot gravesite at Fairfield's Oak Lawn Cemetery (right) for her resting place.

A woman who had her hearing restored burst into tears when she finally heard her husband speak after surgery. Cora Lutes, who lives in Norfolk, Virginia, lost her hearing when she was just two years old and relied on hearing aids throughout her life. But her condition worsened and Lutes was told the only viable option was to undergo surgery to receive a cochlear implant. Her husband James Lutes captured the moment his wife burst into tears at the sound of his voice.

Subway passengers on a line passing through the Bronx were in for an unfortunate surprise as they bore witness to an extended fight over a subway seat. The woman seems to think the man stole her seat, punches are thrown, another man joins in the fight and vulgarities are thrown around. It is not known whether any of the involved were apprehended by authorities.

Rescue divers have recovered the body of a 20-year-old man who went missing in a lake just outside San Bernardino, California, it was announced on Sunday. Divers found the body of Dawson Hartwig (right), the son of San Bernardino County Fire Chief Mark Hartwig (top left), 30 feet under the surface of Lake Arrowhead (bottom left). Hartwig had not been seen since Friday evening, when he told friends at a rented cabin nearby that he was going for a walk. When he did not show up on Saturday morning, Hartwig's friends called the police.

A young man has been killed by a tiger in front of his horrified wife and child after getting dragged into its zoo enclosure at the Youngor Wildlife Park in the city of Ningbo, China. An onlooker took footage of the tiger dragging the man under some trees and sinking its teeth into his neck as two other big cats looked on.Zoo visitors raised the alarm soon after he was attacked by the predator but it took zoo staff about an hour to grapple the man from the tiger's firm grip

Catherine Howarth, 35, from Milton Keynes, is believed to be the only black woman in the world to give birth to two white, blue-eyed children. She is of Nigerian heritage, while husband Richard is white. The couple have son Jonah, three, and daughter Sophia, born last March. Doctors say the odds of a black woman giving birth to two white children is 'millions-to-one' and explain there must be a white gene present in the woman's ancestry.

A concerned teen was given a shock when he noticed a Golden Labrador wandering around a petrol station for the second time in two weeks. Tyler Wilson (left) spotted the dog on a previous visit to the station and assumed the animal was lost when he saw it again, in Louisville, Kentucky. However when the unaccompanied canine (left and right) came up to him while he was filling up his car he bent down to check its collar. Tyler was stunned but relieved when he read the friendly dog's tag (inset). It read: 'My name is Dew. I am not lost. I like to roam. Tell me to go home.'

A viral photo which appears to show an enormous great white shark lurking in the water beneath a 10-year-old surfer has divided the internet. Eden Hasson was catching the last of the light while surfing at Samurai Beach in New South Wales on Tuesday evening when his dad spotted the suspicious shape in the water. Some social media users labeled the photo a 'hoax', pointing out that the shape in the water looked similar to another surfer diving beneath the wave with his board. However, his father and lifetime surfer, Chris, laughed off the claims and said he called in the four other surfers when he spotted the shark in his photo.

Australians have answered the call of nature and stripped down to their birthday suits to celebrate body pride, with many of these exposures documented for the Instagram page getnakedaustralia. The cheeky page is the creation of health professional Brendan Jones, 26, and now has more than 39,000 followers, with 2,000 added a week. Mr Jones believes the strong Instagram following is because the page promotes nudity as a shameless and natural state.

When Tucker Saltus' car froze over in Portland, Maine after a storm earlier this week, he rolled down the window and discovered a sheet of ice still hung over the opening. Saltus refused to let the cold get him down, and rammed his head through the ice in a humorous video he shared online.

Two rescuers have filmed themselves dragging a kangaroo out of a muddy hole filled with water on Australia Day after saying the animal got stuck overnight after being chased there by dogs. The Good Samaritans can be seen dragging the exhausted animal out of the water by its tail, before brushing around half a dozen leeches off its legs. A later video shows the kangaroo looking much happier after being washed as the rescuers dry it with towels.

The shocking moment a helicopter carrying excited tourists span out of control and crashed into a river was caught on camera by a passenger and onlookers ashore.The clip from inside the helicopter shows a woman in the front seat, next to the pilot, with two other guests behind. Laughter and cheers of excitement can be heard from the guests as the vehicle attempts to circle the Rio Turvo in Capitolio, Brazil. However the experience scaling one of the country's most famous rivers in the state of Minas Gerais soon turned into a nightmare as the pilot lost control and veered into the water close to the sandy shore.

A touching video has emerged of a young man dancing with his sister at her wedding day three years after a car crash left him paralysed. The emotional clip shows Nikola Raguz, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, getting up from his wheelchair with help and then slowly dancing around the room with Matea Raguz-Papac. Nikola managed to raise his arm during the dance and as the song finished the siblings were in floods of tears and shared a warm embrace.
