Sporty by name, but not sporty by nature.
The Czech car maker has added some 'sportiness' to its seven-seat SUV.
The new Skoda Kodiaq Sportline joins the recently revealed Kodiaq Scout in the slowly-revealed SUV lineup.
It is highlighted by a black radiator grille, roof rails, wing mirror casings and side windows. The rear of the vehicles also scores silver trim below the bumper.
Adding to its road-going presence are the standard 19-inch alloy wheels that can be optioned up to 20-inch alloys.
The Sportline version gets Alcantara sports seats with contrast silver stitching, aluminium pedals along with a leather steering wheel and gear lever adding to the sporty touches inside.
A multi-function display shows G-force levels, turbocharging pressure, engine output and oil and coolant temperature.
All-wheel drive is also fitted as standard to the Sportline.
However, this is where the 'sporty' characteristics stop. The engine options for the Sportline will remain the same, with the 132kW turbocharged petrol and the 140kW turbodiesel, from the rest of the range, to be offered locally.
The Kodiaq Sportline also misses out on comfort, normal and sport driving modes as standard, as electronic damper control is only available as an option.
Skoda is no doubt keeping its 162TSI engine - found in the new range-topping Volkswagen Tiguan - in reserve for the release of an RS variant at a later date.
The initial Skoda Kodiaq range is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2017.

VAG farts, Drive.com.au reports it. Not newsworthy, only a specification level variant. Do you do a report on any other make's specification level variants of a particular model? How about this: Skoda has released a new model, and these are the specification levels -as ONE STORY, just like you do with other non VAG brands.

For a minute there I thought I was looking at the new Jeep Compass.
