The big sister theory! Kaley Cuoco brings younger sibling Briana as her SAG Awards date

She would hardly be at a loss when it comes to willing escorts.

But Kaley Cuoco treated her younger sister Briana by bringing her as her date to the SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Big Bang Theory star looked in fine form indeed as she trotted down the red carpet with her sibling by her side.

Sister act: Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco brought along her younger sibling Briana to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday

Kaley flaunted her famous assets in a lacy gown that boasted a revealing neckline and ornate floral detailing.

Her sister, who was season five loser on The Voice, seemed to be revelling in the attention as she stood in for her sister's equestrian boyfriend Karl Cook.

Kaley's co-star Mayim Bialik, 41, meanwhile looked as elegant as ever in a multicoloured gown that showcased her extremely curvy figure.

One-note actor Jim Parsons, who delivered his trademark Sheldon-esque performance with aplomb in critically acclaimed Hidden Figures, meanwhile opted for a classically elegant look of Armani tuxedo, bow tie and shiny leather shoes.

Taking her for a ride: She brought along her sister in lieu of her equestrian boyfriend Karl Cook

Rearly impressive: The shapely small screen star was looking great from every angle

The hunk is in the running for two gongs - outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series for his sitcom and outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture for the hit Fox movie.

He said: 'It's more exciting than I even thought it would be, I'll be honest with you. When it happened it was really neat, but it was really on the ride over I was tonight like, "Oh my God, I have two groups of people I get to see!"'

And Kaley pulled his leg due to the fact he had opted to sit with the stars of his film instead of his usual castmates.

Making waves: The fine filly was turning heads as she trotted down the red carpet

She said: 'He just moves right into the Hidden Figures table? OK, this is news to me, if you can't tell. Would it be weird if I sat at the Modern Family table?'

Jolly Jim retorted that she had spilled the beans on the 'in-fighting' on their hit show.

The Screen Actors Guild created its own awards ceremony in 1995, and it has gone on to become one of the jewels in the tinsel crown of Hollywood.

The gong handed out to winners is a statuette of a nude male figure brandishing both a mask of comedy and a mask of tragedy; it is called 'The Actor'.

The Jim Parsons project: The ruggedly handsome actor revealed he is sitting with his Hidden Figures costars instead of his Big Bang Theory castmates

It is one of the only award shows where actors are honoured by their peers; the ceremony recognizes achievements in acting alone.

The first honours given out in SAG's inaugural ceremony included industry staples Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) and Jodie Foster (Nell), for lead roles in films.

However it wasn't until 1996 that the show began handing out an award for best ensemble, a category that is now seen as one of the most accurate predictors for the best picture award at the Oscars.

She's Blossom-ed: Mayim Bialik looked as elegent as ever in a multicoloured gown

Fun-loving: She shared a few drinks with her Big Bang costar Johnny Galecki at the the Entertainment Weekly pre-SAG Awards party
