Daughter of the poet Byron, Lovelace collaborated with Victorian inventor Charles Babbage, who envisioned steam-age computers built out of cogwheels. She died at the tragically young age of 36. Two centuries later, her contributions are being celebrated in a series of 16 international lectures by leading computer scientists, historians...

Recorded from IQC's NanoMRI conference 2015. A scanning magnetic probe microscope based on nanoscale superconducting quantum interference devices (nanoSQUID) residing on the apex of a quartz tip has been developed. The SQUID-on-tip device is fabricated by pulling a quartz tube into a sharp pipette with diameters down to 50 nm followed by deposition of a thin superconducting lead (Pb) film onto the sides and the apex of the pipette. The devices operate in magnetic fields of up to 2 T and display an extremely low flux noise of 50 nΦ0/Hz1/2resulting in record spin sensitivity of 0.4 μB/Hz1/2[1]. Using a quartz tuning fork based AFM technique the nanoSQUID can be scanned tens of nm above the surface of the sample. The combination of high sensitivity, high spatial resolution, wide bandwidth, a...
The song "Don't Believe These Tales" is from the album "On the Cusp of Change".Video directed and edited by Denis Rizikov & Alexander Gurevich. Red Rose's style is a mixture of melodic hard rock and classic heavy metal, with a light progressive touch, taking inspiration a lot from the 80'. Beautiful melodies, heavy guitars, high clean vocals, extensive use of the keys and backing vocals, meaningful lyrics -- all these define Red Rose. And this mixture finds a more solid incarnation in their new work, which is certainly a big leap forward for the band. Members: Leve Laiter - Vocals Elnur Aliev - Guitars Deion Kristen - Keyboards Eli Reeve - Bass youtube.com/user/redroseband www.redrose.co.il Permission to upload the video received from Red Rose.
