But it wasn't complete smooth sailing for the star, who found himself slammed by Arizona Coyotes pro Chris Pronger against a glass exterior.

The match saw hockey stars such as Patrick Kane, Rob Blake, and Peter Forsberg team up with celebrities that included Billy Flynn, Tim Robbins, and Alan's son Carter Thicke for a match-up benefiting the nonprofit organization Echoes of Hope, according to NHL.com.
The teams were named after hockey pros Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky, who both guided their own players, adds the website.
Not only was the match doing good by assisting Echoes Of Hope, but the stars paid tribute to the late actor Thicke by wearing special patches on their jersey in honour of the Growing Pains star, according to the website.

Alan died last month after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son Carter, who was set to play that day.
Not present was Alan's son Robin Thicke, according to TMZ, who pulled out of his NHL100 Gala tribute for his late father Alan Thicke on Friday.
The actor was also set to coach a team - which would have included brother Carter - for Saturday's match, but ended up backing out, adds the website.
This comes after his custody battle with his former wife Paula Patton has taken an ugly turn with claims of abuse.
