The first episode of Family Rules aired on last night, with the series trending on social media.

In episode one, finding the perfect dress for 18-year-old Aleisha’s school formal presents challenges for not just her - but the entire Rule family. Like many other teens, Aleisha has grown up watching her older sisters get glammed and pampered for their proms, so finding the perfect dress her for own big night is crucial. She uses her 'charm' to convince her sisters and mother to help pay for her dress as well as an extensive list of extras.

Family Rules is a six-part real life TV series, following the lives of nine sisters, Angela 29, Shenika 27, Helen 26, Kelly 23, Kiara 22, Sharna 20, Aleisha 17, Jessica 14, Hannah 12 and their single mother, Daniella Borg. All 10 women navigate the modern world while trying to stay true to their Indigenous cultural values – in the Rule household, family rules.
