Good morning
It's going to be a hot one with 32 degrees forecast in the city and 39 at Parramatta for what is mostly the first day back at school. In fact the whole week will be uncomfortable for students with temperatures expected to average 30 degrees.
Now Sydney, take one big, deep breath. This all means traffic will return to normal levels. And of course disruption continues in the city due to light rail construction, a point which the government last week committed another $5.3m to reminding us about. Or you could just stand in Park Street a while if you forgot.

While many parents worry about cyber bullying, it's IRL bullying that remains the bigger problem, according to a new study. "Kids are really vicious," victim Isabel Henry told the Herald. "They just absolutely attack you any way they can." Andrew Taylor reports here.

The entry into service of the first of six new government-owned ferries on Sydney Harbour in 16 years has been delayed because the Catherine Hamlin's small rudders and shallow hull make it difficult to manoeuvre in high winds. Matt O'Sullivan has the full story here.
Berejiklian's new team

Premier Gladys Berejiklian unveiled her new ministry yesterday, with Adrian Piccoli dumped by the Nationals as Education Minister despite his party leader, John Barilaro, saying he's the "best education minister this state has seen and probably this nation". Education is now in the hands of the former Planning Minister Rob Stokes, who former premier Mike Baird described as the best planning minister in NSW history. Sean Nicholls explains here.
