Kylie Minogue has still not asked only sister Dannii Minogue to be her bridesmaid

She vowed not to marry Joshua Sasse until same-sex marriage is legal in Australia, and while that looks like it still might be some time off with how things are looking in parliament, surely you'd think Kylie Minogue would lock in her only sister as her bridesmaid?

But Dannii Minogue, 45, told Fairfax Media this week: "She hasn't told me anything about it, I don't know. I don't know what's happening."

Kylie and Dannii heat up the X-Factor stage

The Minogue sisters perform together on stage for the first time in almost 30 years during the X Factor finale.

As a Let It Shine host, L'Oréal Professionnel ambassador and mother to Ethan, six, this reporter pointed out: "You are a busy lady, doesn't she need to lock you down?"

"You'd think I'd know, I really don't. If I did, I'd say, 'I know but I can't tell because it's in the vault,' but I don't know. There is nothing that I know about it. Nothing.

"I'll see her in London soon and she said 'girls' night,'" Dannii offered.

"A possible secret hen party?" this reporter asked.

"No, not just me and her at a secret hen," Dannii laughed.

While a date or bridal party is still under wraps, in an interview with Britain's Daily Mail this week, Kylie, 48, said she plans to take her 29-year-old husband-to-be's surname: "Kylie Sasse is a great name ... Kylie Minogue has never exactly tripped off the tongue ... I'll definitely be taking Sasse, but there will be Minogue in there somewhere."

However, again, Dannii remained unaware. "It's the first I've heard about it."

"But she'll still be a Minogue," this reporter explained the reports.

"Always a Minogue," Dannii laughed.

A newly blonde Dannii also opened up about wanting a hair transformation for some time, but feared she would be compared to her elder sister.

"I have been so conscious of making it different [to Kylie's]... That's also why I went with the roots, it's something different," The L'Oréal Professionnel  hair muse said. "Platinum would have been too much regrowth – too hectic with a child," she laughed.

While Kylie "loved" her ombre look, her son Ethan – with ex-partner, Myer ambassador Kris Smith – was not as impressed.

"He asked me, 'Mummy, why are you trying to look like me?' because he is really blonde," she laughed.

Despite Ethan being just one year off the age Dannii started Young Talent Time at seven, she said there is "no chance in hell" that she "would ever let him go to work" next year.

"He is not a performer, hates performing on cue, won't do it, but he really observes," she said.

"He gets to come backstage, where he loves the warm-up guy and he sometimes watches me get my makeup done and says, 'Mummy, you look beautiful, you look like a princess,' and when he says that, I'm like, 'I don't even know if I can go to work now.'"

She's back to the UK at the end of the month for Let It Shine, Gary Barlow's BBC One reality television talent show, where she'll take the school-goer so he can visit his paternal grandparents in Manchester and his "auntie" Kylie: "He is so excited," she said.

Ethan only realised his mother was famous when he started school last year.

"He came home and he asked, 'How come people know you? You're my mummy'," she said.

"He's had a year now, and getting him settled in, it's been a big change, well it has been a big change for me, then there is the celeb thing, there is a lot of layers of stuff. He's the main priority."
