Kangaroo makes herself at home in family's caravan, then brings back her friends

What do you do when an uninvited guest barges into your caravan? Grin and bear it or politely encourage them to leave?

Well, when that uninvited guest is a kangaroo and you have three giggling kids in your RV then the answer is both.

Bemused dad, Justin, caught the encounter on camera and can be heard saying, "what's going on here" and "come on, outside please!" in the background. Meanwhile, his three kids, Jack, Billi and Charli laugh hysterically.

Mum, Bec didn't know whether to laugh or cry: "I don't want it to box me!" she jokes as Justin tries to show the confused marsupial the door.

The kangaroo seemed to be hell bent on having a good sniff round the caravan while the family unsuccessfully try and nudge her out the door. In the end, the resourceful dad uses a good old fashioned parenting strategy to move the kangaroo on – he bribed her.

Later on, the family discovered that using an apple to tempt their fury friend out of the caravan might not have been the best idea after all. The Kangaroo came back – and she had company.

"I think word has got out around the local kangaroo community that they can come in and have a bit of dinner," jokes Justin in another video.

"They're all lining up to get in the door now!"

The family are currently travelling round Australia  "in a van" and their close encounter with a kangaroo is just the latest in a long line of adventures. After setting off from Newcastle in December 2015 the family have been on the road full time.

"We have had so many amazing places all to ourselves. It has been the best decision ever to travel our amazing country," they write on their blog.

"It's a fantastic lifestyle and the adventures and experiences we have gained are far more valuable than money ever will be!

"Exploring our beautiful country has seen a huge change in our children. They thrive on the changing environments and we have watched their little personalities become strong, resilient and outgoing."

Followers on the families Facebook page were delighted by the footage.

"That is insane!! Well at least there not jumping out in front when you're driving!" wrote one person.

"Oh my this is going to be one hell of a great memory for you all, that you will talk about still when your kids are older....awesome!" wrote another.

We just hope they've got plenty more apples!
