Backyard bars in Perth

Check out these two unique backyard bars in Perth.

Bar Forty Nine "Glamour, Glamour, Glamour"

Bar Forty Nine in East Fremantle has everything!

A nightclub, a resort, a cocktail lounge, 75-inch TV and a fully stocked bar. And beyond the booze is a commercial-grade gym, showroom quality garage and more big boy toys than a pinball convention.

It's hard to believe Bar Forty Nine is in a private backyard. This must be is the most glamorous joint in Perth - although calling it a joint is disrespectful. It's more stylish than a WAG on a Brownlow red carpet. It's so super cool there should be a dress code to enter.

This is flashy on a grand scale but thankfully the gorgeous owners Alex and Sharnee could not have been more welcoming and have created a very friendly and relaxing home. The only problem with this bar was deciding what to drink with so much of offer.

Bar Forty Nine is the obvious destination for celebrations and Alex and Sharnee are regularly hosting parties to celebrate New Year Eve, grand finals, world cups, UFC fights and more recently Alex's 40th with a gathering of 80 guests.

I wouldn't dare to ask if there was a budget for creating this masterpiece but I would stab a guess that the desire for the perfect pad far exceeded any concerns about cost. And they succeeded.

Pacey's Outback Music Venue

It was a total coincidence that the best music venue has the same name as our bar featured last week. "Pacey's" in Hammond Park has the party dial on 10. If you have 300+ friends this is the perfect backyard for a large scale celebration.

4 beers on tap, a 3 bank slushy machine, ice machines, pizza oven, the biggest Esky I have ever seen and a stage for bands, where more recently an Angels tribute band bashed out a few sets.

The owner Boris Pacey has hosted some big parties including fundraising events and over the years has raised around $70,000 for various charities.

This is the sort of venue where you can rock up with 10 of your best friends and end up making many, many more. Boris has created a safe and friendly environment where the love of Aussie live music brings everyone together.

If you're into live bands and need a venue for 300 of your closest friends, then you need Pacey as your mate.

Bar 72 Community Pub

Phsyco's (not his real name!) "Bar 72" in Port Kennedy is a bachelor's dream.

This is the sort of place where new friendships are forged. Bar 72 has some great features including 5 bars and a 15-foot jarrah table with ice boxes down the middle, but it's the bar positioned in the front garden which is most popular and is renowned for making husbands disappear.

A local resident walking his dog stumbled across Phsyco's front bar and 6 hours later his wife was frantically searching for him. He was found at Phsyco's, very drunk and in the company of some new best friends.

I'm still wondering what happened to the dog?

We like this bar for bringing the community together, it's a place for the locals to chill out, share a story and enjoy a few quiet ales while watching the sun set over the dunes.

Club Redwood

We also received some fantastic photo's from Tim's "Club Redwood".

Tim was busy hosting Australia Day celebrations, so we were unable to make a visit but with a bar like this we totally understand.

The one thing all these bars have in common is the value the owners place on mateship.

The idea of creating a friendly and safe environment where everyone is welcome. After all, there's no point having the perfect bar if you can't show it off... sorry, share it!
