Second unit
In film, the second unit is a team that shoots footage which is of lesser importance for the final motion picture, as opposed to the first unit, which shoots all scenes involving actors, or at least the stars of the film. Second unit footage typically includes shots like scenery (establishing shots), close-ups of objects and other inserts or cutaways.
Second Unit Responsibilities
The advantage of the second unit is that the first unit director and the lead actors, who are expensive, do not have to be present and can shoot at the same time, or, in the case of actors, leave the production earlier. Sometimes, the second unit also films close-ups of body parts. In this case, a body double takes the place of the normal actor. This, in turn, is often a problem for continuity.

In film, the second unit is a discrete team tasked with filming shots or sequences separate from the main, or "first", unit. The second unit will often shoot simultaneously with the first unit, allowing the filming stage of production to be completed faster.

Second unit
In film, the second unit is a team that shoots footage which is of lesser importance for the final motion picture, as opposed to the first unit, which shoots all scenes involving actors, or at least the stars of the film. Second unit footage typically includes shots like scenery (establishing shots), close-ups of objects and other inserts or cutaways.
Second Unit Responsibilities
The advantage of the second unit is that the first unit director and the lead actors, who are expensive, do not have to be present and can shoot at the same time, or, in the case of actors, leave the production earlier. Sometimes, the second unit also films close-ups of body parts. In this case, a body double takes the place of the normal actor. This, in turn, is often a problem for continuity.
As well as action set-pieces, the second unit may also shoot in locations that would be too expensive or too dangerous to send the first unit to. For example, for The World Is Not Enough, Vic Armstrong and a small second unit crew traveled to Istanbul to shoot footage with a double for Pierce Brosnan which was then matched by the editor with shots filmed on a replica set at Pinewood Studios.
A more mundane but frequently vital task for the second unit is to shoot inserts. Sometimes the editor will take charge of a second unit to film an insert as he will know what footage he is missing. A film's budget usually has a sum put aside to cover the costs of any inserts.
Very large productions may have more than one additional team — in this case, they are all called second units (sometimes additional second units), never third or fourth unit.
Second unit should be considered distinct from a multicamera setup (A-Camera, B-Camera, C-Camera, etc), where two or more cameras are shooting footage from the same scene simultaneously.

Brad writes: Hey guys I'm loving the show! It’s been discussed that one of the weak points of the MCU is arguably the villains. Could this be because Marvel hasn't been allowed to use some of their best villains including Doctor Doom, Galactus, Magneto and (up until recently) the green goblin? Chris Voth writes: Love the new show. At Comic Con, Bryan Fuller himself said that Hannibal may be a feature film, if they get no buyers for season 4. I was wondering what do you guys think about that? Would you like to see Hannibal go into feature?
Lee writes: Why is Freida Pinto not a bigger star? When "Slumdog Millionaire" came out in 2008, she was considered one of the next breakout stars in Hollywood. She appeared on "Most Beautiful" lists; she became a spokesperson for L'Oreal; she's even been in a Bruno Mars music video. However, aside from one high-profile film, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," most of her movies have been forgettable. She was rumored to be the next Bond Girl at one point, but that fell through. Looking ahead, she is slated for another high-profile ape-themed film in 2017, "Jungle Book: Origins" (coincidently, directed by her "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" co-star, Andy Serkis), but that's it. Why, in your opinion, did Freida Pinto never become the A-list actress we all thought she could have been?
Chris Chance writes: I was wondering about movie releases. More specifically on BvS release dates. This seemingly, euphoria bringing movie opens on 25th of March in the States whereas here in Sweden, where I'm at, it opens on 6th of May. So I was wondering, why? And also if you guys could talk about what makes the distributor choose different dates and not just release the movie on the same date globally.
James Mckenzie Writes : Hey Collider Crew how's it going, my Question is how would you rank the Batman Films. All of them, from Burton to Schumacher to Nolan. What's your favorite to not so favorite and why!
LeVar Anthony writes: Even before it was cool to stay through the end credits, this was something I normally do. I have always seen that most films have a second unit director. What is that exactly? My assumption is that this is the person that handles some of the action or people or the stars walking down the street for a scene transition. But really I have no idea. So, what does a second unit director do?
Profit writes: What are you thoughts on the report that The Revenant movie shoot was a living hell according to crew members? Do you think sometimes when a director is chasing their vision it may cause a rift with the people that work for them. They say pressure makes diamonds. Does this theory work in the movie business?

Synopsis[edit]
Nithya (Shobana) is the deputy commissioner of the city who lives with her Valliyachan (Janardhanan) since both her parents were killed in an accident. She was put on to investigate a corruption case done by the Home Minister and his friend a business man called Rajan Phillip (Cochin Haneefa). Unknowingly she was helped in the investigation by a criminal nicknamed Superman (Jayaram). Superman aka Harikrishnan nurtures a vendetta with the home minister and rajan phillip and uses Nithya to trap his enemies. In the whole process Superman uses Judiciary as his weapon, by providing vital evidences to Nithya at times in order to collect evidences Superman himself breaks the law, but as it is for the greater good it is forgiven by Nithya in the end.

Synopsis[edit]

PK (Peekay) is an upcoming 2014 Indian family comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, produced by Raju Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur, and written by Raju Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. The film stars Aamir Khan in the title role, with Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla, and Sanjay Dutt in supporting roles. Hirani has stated that the film will be a satire on "God and godmen". The film has a scheduled release date of 19 December 2014.
The co-director Khan began looking for shooting locations in July 2012. Second unit filming was set to begin in late 2012, which was stalled after the rumoured departure of three department heads for the film and bad weather stalling initial shoots. Hirani denied rumours that the film would be delayed, stating that principal filming had always been intended to begin in mid-January 2013 in Delhi and Rajasthan to "capture the winter of Delhi". Shooting officially began on 1 February 2013, with the filming scheduled to occur over a 45-day period. A 26-day schedule of shooting of PK started in Delhi from 27 September 2013. When the shoot of the film was going on in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, an FIR was lodged against makers of the film for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in October 2013. The objection was regarding a scene in the film where a man dressed as the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva pulls the rickshaw with two burqa clad women as passengers.
The film's soundtrack is composerd by Shantanu Moitra, Ajay-Atul and Ankit Tiwari with lyrics are penned by Swanand Kirkire, Amitabh Varma and Manoj Muntashir. The full soundtrack released on 17 November 2014. The song "Tharki Chokro" was the first single track released on 8 November 2014, the song is picturised on Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt which was sung by Swaroop Khan and composed by Ajay-Atul with lyrics are penned by Swanand Kirkire.The second single track "Love is a waste of time" featuring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma released on 13 November 2014 on YouTube. The song is sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, composed by Shantanu Moitra with the lyrics of Amitabh Varma. "Chaar Kadam" song released on 22 November 2014 The song is sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal, composed by Shantanu Moitra and lyrics by Swanand Kirkire. The song is picturised on Sushant Singh Rajput and Anushka Sharma.
