The Department of State awarded the construction contract for the major rehabilitation of the U.S. Embassy Chancery building in Manila, Philippines to Framaco International of Rye Brook, New York.

The Chancery is situated on a 17.4-acre site on Manila Bay located in southern Manila City. The rehabilitation project will include the renovation of the historic Chancery building as well as the construction of two additional wings. The renovation and addition will provide a secure and modern workplace for staff and visitors of the Embassy. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021.

The architect is ZGF Architects of Portland, Oregon.

As part of the Department’s Capital Security Construction Program, the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations has completed 133 new diplomatic facilities since 1999 with an additional 52 projects in design or under construction.
