GM HOLDEN

GM Holden, a subsidiary of General Motors US, is Australia's most-iconic brand, widely identified as "Australia's own".

However, Holden is to cease local manufacturing, along with Ford and Toyota, in 2017. That date will bring to an end an unbroken line of models that began with 'the first Holden', the 48-215 'FX'.

After decades of market dominance, Holden has seen its share of Australian sales slip to less than 10 percent. But the Commodore continues to sell well, as does the Cruze, also manufactured here.

Determined to retain its position, Holden offers a competitive range of sporty European-sourced models - like the Insignia, convertible Cascada and Astra - and robust, locally-refined SUVs, 4X4s and small cars, like the Captiva and Trax, the Colorado range, the Barina and tiny Barina Spark.
