Volvo has issued a recall in Australia this week, targeting six of its models over a potential problem with the airbags.

The carmaker has identified an issue with the airbag inflator, which may not fully inflate the bags when required during a collision.

Airbags on the driver’s and passenger’s side in the front the vehicle may be affected, along with seat-mounted airbags.

Should this fault occur, the airbags may offer the maximum protection for vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury.
Volvo reports no incidents from this issue in Australia at this stage.

The affected models are all from the current model-year, and include the Volvo S60, V60 Cross Country, XC60, V40, V40 Cross Country and XC90.

A total of 117 vehicles are on the recall list for Australia.

Volvo will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
