A mum has made a pretty bold move by demanding £325 (AU$532) for a pair of her daughter's shoes that were damaged at another family's house.

Designer and aspiring actress Sarah Louise Bryan, from the UK, said she was shocked when her three-year-old daughter Isabella came home with scuffed Italian boots that had been drawn on, The Sun reports.

"So Isabella has just come home from her playdate with your child and I am disgusted to see her new Italian leather shoes are all scuffed and have a Sharpie Mark on them," she wrote in an email to her friend, Nicola Gibbs.

"Below is the bill for these replacing because they can not be fixed these are fine Italian leather! As a designer I do not want my child to look anything less than pristine.

"Bill for a replacement pair of Italian fur booties £325 to be paid by 01/02/2017 before I take this higher."

The Sun reports that Isabella has more than 60 pairs of shoes, and always travels with a spare pair that's suitable for playing outside.

"If your child comes back with scratches on their body, you'd be like 'what's happened?'" she told the paper.

"It's the same with her shoes. She's not supposed to go outside with them. Wherever she goes, she goes with a bag of other shoes.

"Obviously shoes get scuffed on the soles, but these look like they've been worn for a year, not for a few hours.

"There's also a big black mark on the toe where they've been drawn on. I was devastated when I saw them."

Unsurprisingly, Bryan has faced a lot of backlash for her statements. She appeared on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan, who called her "the worst kind of parent".

Reduced to tears, Bryan said Morgan was "just a big nasty bully."

Gibbs doesn't look likely to pay up, telling The Sun she didn't know what Bryan's problem was.

"She must have more money than sense if shes going to pay that much for a pair of shoes for her daughter and then complain when they get ruined.

"Kids are kids, they get messy, they ruin things, that's life."

But Bryan is unrepentant, saying, "These boots are important for her modelling work because they match her outfits. Nicola was in charge and she was looking after my child, so she's responsible for the damage."
