Purchasing a cot for your newborn doesn't have to be an expensive ordeal. A simple cot can cost as little as $150, but something a little more extravagant can set you back $4000 and up.
Design is important, however safety should come first when purchasing your cot. Look for a cot which has been certified to the Australian/New Zealand Standard (AS/NZS 2172:2003).
