Minsk: Solidarity to Vadim Boyko, antifascist supporter of FC Partyzan (Belarus)

Sunday, January 22nd, 2017

Vadim Boyko is an antifascist supporter of FC Partyzan from Minsk. He was detained on March 22, 2016 together with other people on suspicion of participating in the attack on the right-wing hooligans that happened about two years ago. His trial is set for February 3, 2017 and we ask for financial support to pay the legal advice. The approximate cost of the legal aid for him is 5000 euros, part of which has already been covered by us.

Here is a full story.

FC Partyzan (former MTZ-RIPO) is an antiracist football club that doesn’t exist any more, while there are still some active groups of hooligans involved in street fights. As reported, on June 29, 2014 a mob of Partyzan supporters attacked a trolley-bus carrying a gang of right-wing hooligans of FC Torpedo. The attackers blocked the vehicle and broke a few windows. In the following days the police detained five Partyzan fans on suspicion of the attack, but they were eventually set free with no charges. The case was frozen.

London: Know the Enemy – Journalist Spotter Card (UK)

Sunday, January 8th, 2017

From RabbleLDN

In the past year or so, the bottom feeders of the press managed to write many lurid stories about comrades in the UK and our networks, which have not only invaded people’s privacy but have put them at risk from the state and fash. These journalists infiltrated our protests and social events, took close range pictures, trawled social media and pieced together sensationalist and often wildly inaccurate pieces about individuals, and put footage on the internet that led to people being targeted by the cops.

While I expect no better of the media, I do expect us to put up more of a fight. The tolerance of the broader London anarchist/anti-authoritarian scene for the presence of journalists on our demos, and sometimes in our spaces (at times even on invitation!), is exceptional and I’ve witnessed it in few other anarchist milieus. Why is this? Is it mere slackness, a fear of rocking the boat, or are people actually buying the liberal bullshit from the likes of the NUJ about “freedom of expression”? A combination of the above seems the likely contender. (more…)

Revolutionary Struggle members Pola Roupa and Konstantina Athanasopoulou arrested in Attica, Lil’ Lambros-Viktoras held hostage, thirst and hunger strike by RS imprisoned fighters (Greece)

Sunday, January 8th, 2017

Update: According to Athens Indymedia a new order was issued by the prosecutor on 08.01.16 terminating the detention of Lambros-Viktoras Maziotis Roupas, the 6 year old son of Revolutionary Struggle members Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis, and awarding temporary custody of the child to his grandmother. The child has already left the hospital with his relatives. Comrades Pola Roupa, Nikos Maziotis and Konstantina Athansopoulou have ended their hunger and thirst strike. A decision on final custody of the child will take place in six months time.

International solidarity is our weapon

According to Greek media, the comrade Pola Roupa, member of Revolutionary Struggle, has been arrested at a home in the Attica region. Pola is the partner of Revolutionary Struggle member and political prisoner Nikos Maziotis and was one of the most wanted fugitives in Greece. According to media reports Pola was at the house with her young child and a 25 year old woman when police raided. The 25 year old woman was also arrested. There are unconfirmed reports that two more people may have been arrested as well. More information as it becomes available.

Solidarity with Pola Roupa and Revolutionary Struggle!

From our comrades in Greece we have learned that during the arrest of comrade Pola Roupa (member of Revolutionary Struggle and partner of the comrade Nikos Maziotis, also a member of Revolutionary Struggle), that the police kidnapped and detained her 6 year old son.

The child is being held in a hospital room under armed guard and the police are refusing to allow family members or legal representatives to see him. Although we do not know if he is being interrogated it is worth noting that it is illegal under Greek law to interrogate a minor without the presence of a parent / guardian or lawyer.

In response to the state’s vengeful kidnapping and detention of their son, comrades Pola and Nikos have begun a hunger and thirst strike to demand that their child be released from police custody and into the care of close relatives. The 25 year old woman comrade who was arrested with Pola has also begun a hunger strike with the same demands as Pola and Nikos. She is being held under guard in hospital with a serious injury to her arm. (more…)

The bomb had been discovered by a patrol of the Digos in the town involved in monitoring the bookshop near to Casapound [neo-fascist hangout], identified as a sensitive objective and already attacked in the past. The prosecutor is investigating for attempted murder.

Back in the Slammer: A letter from Damien from the Fleury-Mérogis jail (France)

Monday, January 2nd, 2017

Damien was arrested on Wednesday, December 7 in Bretagne, charged with attacks against the Chambre of Commerce, a Jaguar dealership, and other targets during a demo that took place on April 14 between Paris’ 10th and 19th districts. This is his first letter out since being denied bail.

I’m writing from Fleury, where I’m being held in preventative detention[1]. Since the charges against me are, as usual, totally boring and unimaginative, I wanted to offer a different telling of the lovely spring night of revolt, written by some true lovers of disorder, so that my comrades have an accurate and realistic depiction of what I’m alleged to have done: Reportback on April 14: hold in the rage too long and it bursts out like it should[2]

I don’t want to complain, so I won’t give a detailed account of my arrest, similar as it was to all those that happen each day, here and around the world.

However, it does seem important to mention a few things.
During the search, the cops found some anarchist propaganda, namely some newspapers, brochures, posters, and tracts, as well as a few texts in the process of being translated. I refused to sign the papers dealing with the search as well as those for my being held taken into custody. (more…)

Interview with anarchists from Den Haag (Netherlands)

Monday, January 2nd, 2017

From AvalancheA conversation with two anarchist comrades from Den Haag, NL, an overview of the context, struggle and projects of a few anarchists from this city. We chose to transcribe this interview in order to better understand the particular path, circumstances and moments of revolt that have composed the experience of these comrades.

Tell me a bit about the city itself…

A – Den Haag is a city of 500 to maybe 600 thousand people, it is both the home to poor neighbourhoods, such as the Schilderswijk, the poorest neighbourhood in the Netherlands, and of the biggest institutions of justice of the European Union. The motto of the city is “Peace and Justice”.
It is the host of some of the most important military, intelligence and justice institutions of the European Union… Europol, international summit centres, international courts, embassies…

B – There is also an international zone, protected by security delta, this is not only for the State but also companies, it attracts companies, capital. This city has all changed in the last 15 years, some- one in charge, from one day to the next, decided to flip the switch… and everything changed, all the dozens of squats were evicted, cleaned up, made the space for its new international role… (more…)

Leaflet given out in solidarity with the comrades arrested following Operation Scripta Manent (Italy)

Wednesday, December 21st, 2016

On 6th September operation Scripta Manent, coordinated by the Digos of Turin, led to the arrest of 7 anarchist comrades (two of them already in prison) on charges of association with intent of terrorism; another comrade, who wasn’t accused of association, was arrested because ‘material intended to fabricate devices’ was found during the raid on his home.

More specifically, the attacks included in this investigation are: the parcel bombs sent to the CPT [Migrants’ detention centre] director in Modena in May 2005, to the municipal police in Torino-San Alvario and to the police chief in Lecce; the device exploded against the RIS [carabinieri special unit] in Parma (24th October 2015), the parcel bomb sent to Sergio Cofferati (2nd November 2005), the devices against the carabinieri training centre in Fossano (2nd June 2006), the parcel bombs sent to Coema Edilita (a company involved in the refurbishment of the prison for migrants) in July 2006 in Turin, to the mayor of the city Sergio Chiamparino and the director of Torino Cronaca, the devices placed in the Turin neighbourhood of Crocetta (7th March 2007); and the wounding of Ansaldo Nucleare managing director Roberto Adinolfi (7th May 2012), which was claimed by two comrades, is also part of the accusation of terrorist association. New text by anarchist prisoner Alfredo Cospito confiscated by the censors (Italy)

Wednesday, December 21st, 2016

(Received 12/12/16)

The comrade Alfredo Cospito, imprisoned in AS2 [high security wing] in Ferrara for the kneecapping of [CEO Roberto] Adinolfi and who recently received a new arrest warrant for the operation named “Scripta Manent” — an operation which has led, on request of the Turin Prosecutor’s office, to a new wave of prison guards censorship on the prisoner’s correspondence — writes to us that his texts are being systematically confiscated.

In particular, Alfredo has sent a long contribution for a new publishing project, a new anarchist magazine of agitation and of theoretical analysis, which should be published at the beginning of next year. Alfredo wasn’t aware that his letter has been confiscated until 10 days after he sent it, when he did not receive any answer from the addressees who, unaware, actually urged him to send them the welcome contribution. In other words, the head of the wing, whose sad and infamous job is to photocopy every incoming and outgoing letter for prisoners subjected to the censorship and to send a copy to the prosecutor Sparagna [in charge of the Op.“Scripta Manent”], decided that in this case the spying was not sufficient; that the comrade’s text was not to come out at all. Alleged Japanese Red Army member Tsutomu Shirosaki found guilty, given 12-year sentence (Japan)

Tuesday, November 29th, 2016

Alleged Japanese Red Army member Tsutomu Shirosaki has been found guilty in his trial over the May 1986 mortar attack on the Japanese embassy in Jakarta. The Tokyo District Court today handed down a 12-year sentence for the attack, in which two projectiles were launched from a hotel room but failed to cause injury or extensive damage.

Shirosaki was deported to Japan in February 2015, having serving 18 years in prison in America for an attack on the US embassy during the same incident. He was then arrested at Narita Airport and his trial for attempted murder began in September, concluding on November 1st.

Shirosaki was a veteran of Sekigun-ha (Red Army Faction), the far-left domestic group out of which the JRA partly emerged. He was arrested in 1971 for bank robbery (Sekigun-ha carried out a successful bank robbery campaign to raise funds) but freed in October 1977 when the JRA hijacked a plane, forced it to land in Dhaka and demanded the release of various prisoners in Japan. He was later re-arrested in Nepal in 1996 by local authorities in co-operation with the FBI. (more…)

From letters that arrived yesterday 9th October, some of the comrades tell us that their mail is being received and sent out frequently enough, but letters, leaflets and books with news and press reviews posted by comrades are being seized, including letters by editors of Croce Nera Anarchica.
We call for everybody to frequently keep on sending news, publications and press reviews to the comrades inside.

Umbertide (Perugia), Italy – Emanuele Filiberto’s villa attacked

“Attack on the rich in Umbria. And what sort of rich!
From the local press we learn with joy that a few nights ago Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy’s Umbria villa was attacked by unknown ‘vandals’ in Umbertide (Perugia).
In particular the entrance gate was set on fire, and some olive and grape plants were uprooted, stolen or somehow damaged.
Thinking of Gaetano Bresci and today’s anarchists who still believe in direct action, we are spreading what we learned from the local press.
A hug to the prisoners Anna, Valentina, Alfredo, Nicola, Daniele, Danilo, Sandrone and Marco.”
